“Brendan was the perfect partner to us as we took on a two-story remodel project for our 100 yr old home. “I pretty much knew want I wanted to do with my project. I warned Ellen I knew enough about architecture to be dangerous. Ellen recognized my requirements and was instrumental in identifying other considerations needed for the project. Included was a need for a code variance (setback). I was informed by the city, before starting the project, a code allowance(variance) was not required. Ellen’s code research was right. A code allowance was required. With her help, the review board approved the code allowance request unanimously. Our project involves bumping the attached garage eight feet to allow for a utility room between the garage and house. The design includes moving the washer and dryer out of the basement. As simple as the project sounds, there is a lot involved. Ellen listened to my wife’s concerns and ideas on the project. Together we achieved a very efficient design. We are now in the permit and construction phase of the project. I am looking forward to Ellen’s input. Ellen deserves your serious consideration.”

“We hired Leigh at Studio 4C was amazing! She created a second master suite in our house, and was able to create a cost effective space that preserved function, design, and high quality décor. It was really important to us to hire someone who was both an architect and interior designer. She was able to give us many options from tile to cabinet hardware--oftentimes, from the comfort of our own home, by clicking an internet link! I would use Leigh and Studio 4C for any future projects!”

“Building your dream house can be a scary and intimidating experience. We interviewed several architects and were so glad we did. Carl Shipley designed a beautiful home for us. It fit both the property and our lifestyle like a glove. The process was painless and even though Carl was out of state for much of the construction, he kept a very close eye on the project. We had a small drywall cracking issue after the fact and Carl was quick to diagnose and remedy that issue as well. You really can't go wrong with Shipley Design. Carl would be my pick if I set out to do it again.”

“How many times in life do you get a service that is thorough, creative, timely and complete? Jim provided all of this and more. Jim was a pleasure to work with on our project. “We thought we had a clear idea of what we wanted when we contacted Jason. We had been playing with all kinds of ideas and plans and concocted what we thought was a great design. At every step along the way Jason built on the ideas we had and made them better, more practical and more interesting. Working with Jason was an outstanding and affordable experience. He remained open to new ideas throughout, and presented numerous ideas of his own. ( He built a little model with three alternate roof designs.) Unlike some architects who think of it as "their" house, Jason always thought of it as our house and remained flexible to changes we wanted or needed to make. I never felt overcharged for Jason's services. It is an amazing home. We continue to marvel at what a great job we (architect and owner) did. The design works so very well for our lifestyle, and the design elements continue to thrill us again and again. Jason Ruby gets our highest recommendation. He is terrific. “The architects at TKP have great vision and practical ideas. I had spent months working with another architect to design an addition to our 55-year-old home but nothing clicked. Then Karen Keating looked all through our home, sat down and in a matter of minutes roughly sketched out a plan which included a dining nook, den, office, bath and storage room. I knew we'd found the firm with which we wanted to work. Everyone that we worked with at TKP was respectful of our ideas, and then made them even better. We love our three-year-old, 1000 square foot "new" space. It flows beautifully with the original house.”
