“Departure came out to our property after the 2013 Build-It-Green tour and talked to us about potential of building an ADU. A year later, we decided to move forward with building an ADU and again, contacted Dan Lajoie. He came out to our property with the notes and ideas discussed the previous year and was willing to spend a long time discussing our hopes for our ADU. He was able to take our ideas and create a beautiful space that works perfectly for us and our property. Throughout the beginning of the process Dan was available to answer our questions, he spent time sharing pictures and showing us ideas as well as meeting with us regularly to look at his progress. He always took our perspective into account and reworked some of the drafts to ensure we were getting what we wanted; but he also had fantastic ideas that we had not thought of and did a great job inserting his personal character into the project. Overall, we have been really impressed with Dan's patience and his ability to turn a small space into something so functional and beautiful.”

“Pat did a fantastic job of designing a bump-out for my basement remodel to accommodate the new stairs I had to put in to meet code (very old house). I could not visualize what was going to be done to that part of my home and overall remodel until she walked me through the design, and then ---boom, it hit me! Light, windows, beautiful space utilization and best of all ---it looks like it has always been a part of the house ---does not look like a add-on at all. She was wonderful to work with, listened to what I wanted, and then provided a design to exceed what I thought I could have. “After purchasing a town home in the summer of 2013, we hired Phil Check and Associates to just about gut it and bring it to it's full potential. He and his team delivered more than I had imagined this home could be. Phil and his team are more than qualified & capable to design and execute a remodel from start to finish with little to no involvement from the homeowner yet they welcome above normal input from the homeowner as well, as was the case with us. Through the entire process we felt like part of the team. We could not be happier with the results! There were many times along the way that Phil made suggestions for alternate choices that were a savings to us and we appreciated that especially because the scope of our project was rather large. Together we blended the perfect amount of savings and splurges. His creative flair shines throughout from the sprinkler system line hidden within a beam to a half bath with motion controlled lighting on an antique mermaid. “I've used Vanessa twice: once to help me choose colors for our bathroom and hall remodel, and once to ameliorate a mistake I made in choosing a wall color that had already been painted in our den. Both times her eye was spot-on. For the bathroom and hall, she helped me choose the perfect colors for the vibe I was going for. In the instance of the color correction, she was able to assess the problem immediately (undertone of my couch color didn't work with the undertone in the wall color) and correct it just as quickly. We have now put up the new color that Vanessa suggested and we LOVE it. Vanessa also made excellent suggestions regarding floor, counter finishes, and light fixtures for our bathroom remodel. I can't say enough good about Vanessa and her skills; I have worked with two other color consultants and neither had the eye that Vanessa has. In addition, she was the only consultant who "brought' the color to me; she carries a briefcase containing 8.5x11 sheets of every Benjamin Moore color. No tiny chips or fan decks here! As far as scheduling: Vanessa was super responsive to both phone message and text, and we were able to schedule appointments in a reasonable time frame. She arrived to consult right on time and gave my project her full attention and a lot of time spent. As part of her service, she puts together a nice notebook with recommendations, color choices and sheens, and other bits of advice regarding color. Having ColorMoxie NW involved in our remodel has made a huge difference.”
