“I live in Manhattan and have a country house in the Catskills upstate. The house is a contemporary design built in the mid 1970's. The "bones" were great but the aesthetic was completely wrong. We had Kimberly redesign the interior of the entire house - from moving electrical work, plumbing, windows and walls to choosing finishes and fixtures. She is amazing and I have referred her to many friends and clients. Next.... the apartment.”
Alisberg Parker

“As we near completion of an Alisberg Parker project I am inclined to say that it has been, plain and simple, a "pleasure"! As a builder I can attest that Susan Alisberg & Ed Parker bring a refreshing sophistication to their work. Alisiberg Parker Architects has carved out a niche where classic tradition and a fresh up to date design sense mesh perfectly for todays living. In working with Susan it has become clear that her clients not only receive turn key drawings and specifications but also a full time designer who has her finger on the pulse of current style and trend. Its hard to come by an architect with such a keen eye and unwavering passion for their work.”
John Patrick Cunningham / Architect

“My husband and I are absolutely thrilled with the work performed by John Patrick. He went above and beyond to ensure that our vision and goals were captured in the final design. We know that when we finally move into our renovated home, we will enjoy it that much more because we worked with John. We bought a1930s colonial - our first home - and while we knew that something needed to be done to it, we couldn't figure out exactly what. John Patrick is a highly trained and skilled designer, who helped us realize ideas about our space that we didn't see before. Not only did he come up with beautiful and practical solutions to the problems we saw in the home, he willingly worked within the existing constraints of the space, i.e., the location of plumbing, load-bearing walls, etc. We held frequent check-points during our design phase. During each one, John Patrick was thoughtful and professional. We never felt embarrassed or uncomfortable bringing our ideas to the table. He was always very tactful in explaining which ideas made sense and which could be reconsidered in order to maximize space and functionality. We wanted to work with an architect who would share his professional expertise, and not simply sketch whatever we asked him to. John is definitely that architect. And yet, when there were personal elements that my husband and I were unwilling to bend on - no matter how impractical - John found a way to make them work. After each check-point, John created great drawings that helped us visualize the space. These were invaluable for two business professionals trying to make design choices with no design experience. Once our designs were final, John even produced renderings that helped us select fixtures and furniture to fit in our space. These renderings alone have received glowing compliments from all our friends and colleagues. The renderings were also very impressive to our contractor, who is overseeing the construction of our home, as were the construction documents that John produced. The construction documents helped us during the bid phase, when we were trying to select a contractor, and have served as the “source of truth” during the construction phase. We absolutely recommend working with John Patrick Cunningham. You will be happy you did!”

“I found Ben Herzog Architects while browsing Houzz.com. I would add photos to my ideabook and discovered that most of the projects were done by Ben! Ben has been great helping us decide how we can maximize space in our 1917 Brooklyn row house. We have decided on a more open floor plan, new wood plank floors, high hat lighting, a bit larger kitchen space with higher ceiling and an island, a shallow broom closet and banquette seating in our dining room. The demolition began 9/5/12 and as a result we have discovered that we can open up the doorway openings even more than planned! Ben is happily revising his drawings and I can't wait to see the changes! Ben and his team are easy to work with and very helpful with design and product ideas while keeping our budget in mind!”

“I love the range of this architectural practice. Their attention to detail with design of well proportioned and attractive spaces is a welcome relief to the blandness of typical builder houses. Their talent with space planning and willingness to meet client desires with rational and well conceived lay outs is evident in these photos.”
Weil Friedman Architects
Architects in Wantagh, NY
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars11 November 2013
“I began working with Weil Friedman Architects (specifically, Barbara Friedman) in the Fall of 2012, when I purchased a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, approximately 1750 sq. foot apartment in my current building, anticipating my July marriage and the combination of two families of kids and animals. Time had stood still in the apartment since the 1960s, so this was a total renovation. New kitchen and baths, surfaces, all lighting throughout, built-ins, reconfiguration of the space. From the design and drawing stage, through construction and punch list, Weil Friedman Architects were the consummate professionals. Detail-oriented, never dropped the ball once, always available to answer questions, worked extremely well with the contractors. They are "soup to nuts" architects, participating in everything from choosing stone, fabrics, paint, flooring, cabinetry, and just the right appliances...you get an architect, project manager, designer, decorator, and "seeker and finder of the perfect polished nickel bullet hinge" all rolled into one. They are great to work with, offering ideas while listening to yours. The project finished right on schedule, and that was in no small part due to Weil Friedman's determination and midnight and weekend oil. Not only that, but we finished on budget. Amazing. I wish I had another apartment to renovate just so I can work with them again, and I tell anyone I know who is about to undertake a project, that they should talk to them.”

“I worked with Alex on a Soho, NYC loft project in mid-2011. We had purchased a historic loft that needed work on the layout, lighting, and a number of other issues. Alex was a complete professional throughout. At the beginning, he proposed a number of varying proposals as there were a lot of creative options to consider with the space. When it came time for the contractor/construction, he made that a seamless interaction and kept everything on schedule. I also found him to be very forthright and honest, and I got the sense he was really working for the client on all fronts, and importantly with the budget in mind. Our end result was amazing, and we will definitely be using him again for our next project.”
