“Firstly, I would like to thank Flavio Da Costa, Murilo (project manager) & his team for their work on our 3 bed property – they were amazing! Throughout the 4 month process, the work was progressing faster than schedule, as well as keeping to a very high standard. We had undertaken a whole house refurbishment - which includes but not limited to; wall demolishment’s, full house electrical rewiring, flooring, door replacements, decorating, bathroom, heaters, skirtings, stair bannister, kitchen – basically everything possible! “We added an orangery to extend our existing kitchen to create a large open plan room for kitchen, dining and seating. We chose Westbury mainly because we wanted a bespoke solution, they clearly had lots of experience of what does (and doesn't) work and they came up with designs that we really liked which brought to life and greatly improved our own half-baked ideas! We used Westbury to do everything....design, planning permission, building works (foundations, knocking through etc), building the orangery, installing underfloor central heating (including most of the plumbing), lighting and other electrics, internal floor tiling and they made and installed various bespoke fittings to help integrate the 'old' and 'new' areas into a single living space. We found all the Westbury staff to be friendly and professional and importantly they kept us well informed throughout. Most have been with the company for years and are passionate about doing a good job. Any building work always comes with an element of disruption and the real test of any firm is how they deal with the unforeseen issues that inevitably crop up - we didn't have many, but all were sorted promptly and professionally. Overall the whole design and build experience was a pleasure and the end result has exceeded our expectations.”

“Keith Barke did a great job for us, converting a garage into a living room and a small bedroom into a study. The major job was the conversion and though we knew roughly what we wanted, Keith came up with excellent ideas on such things as the heating and lighting that really improved the final design and functionality of the room. He also liaised with the council on the required building regulations. The smaller room is an awkward shape but, again, Keith came up with a smart solution involving a bespoke desk that has made the best use of the space - it wasn't something we could have visualised without his expertise. Very friendly and attentive service - not just Keith but all of his team - and the whole job was completed on time and on budget. Suffice to say, we're very pleased, and we're just about to use the firm again on another room. Highly recommended.”

“Greg was introduced and recommended to us by Ana of High End Kitchen to complete Refresh of Kitchen and Rip and Rebuild of the Extension. Budget was fixed and most of the quotes received barely covered building work. Seems the quotes were post code based. It was refreshing, Greg responded by making an appointment to review the build on site with Ana. Also explained the details of what will be quoted on rather than just the location of the post-code x £K per square Meter, with written confirmation of this and a risk mitigating - progressive weekly payment plan, which spanned the duration of the work. In essence, Wife and I were sold on Greg's honesty and professional approach to us, even before the quotation dropped in my inbox. The Other main point which convinced us to use Greg (Design By London) was his preference to focus on one build at a time, rather than spread across a number of build projects. As agreed the Work Started, on most days of the week there were 2 or 3 on site, specially during any initial demolishment/Rebuild work, so the external shell can be completed as soon as possible. All of the Additional resources Greg brings in are courteous and absolutely trust worthy. Other important fact is, as the kitchen was being rebuilt by Greg and co-working with Ana, all measurements for the kitchen furniture and its fitting into the rebuilt shell was 100% perfect. With Greg, there is no need for a Project Manager to oversee the work, Greg will take on that role and ensure all is completed within the agreed window in a logical manner to reduce/eliminate waiting time. As it usually happens, once the work commenced with the confidence on the quality of the work and speed, we started to add more to the build, which again goes through the formal detailed quotation for us to decide to progress or not. Usually as expected, we accepted and added to the refurbishment/build. During the initial shell demolishment and re-build, there will be unexpected findings which require additional spend, these are unavoidable and needs to be factored in, as the structural survey will not spot, rotten beams or unsafe previous build etc.. Apart from the dust and noise, We have been extremely satisfied with Greg and his team, their speed of build, finish and very tidy and safe approach.
