“kitchen renovation and following an additional deck and mud room. The project was done within the agreed timeframe and within the budget necessary to make the project viable. At the end of each work day, the contractor cleaned up all the debris and tools making it very easy to tolerate the construction phase.”

“We hired Caldwell & Johnson (C&J) for Dave's knowledge of green technology. Before the project began Dave showed us other houses he had built using some of this technology. In the last stages of design we decided to use photovoltaic technology. C&J installed solar shingles on the south facing roof that are producing more kilowatts than we are consuming. The photovoltaics coupled with other building techniques C&J uses to produce energy efficient homes (e.g. foam insulation) earned us a Home Energy Rating Certificate with a 5 stars plus rating. Dave followed through to get the house tested for its energy efficiency and we received certificates with the results. C&J was also top rate in terms of designing the interior details of the house. For example, board and batten was installed on the walls of the open staircase, craftsman style trim on all windows including some open transoms, and help when choosing finishes (e.g. tile). Dave's team is very knowledgable and professional!”

“We could not recommend Arkins Construction more highly! Our project included salvaging parts of our old home to re-purpose into our new house. Arkins was with us every step of the way. From their subs to their crew they were professional. hard working, courteous, timely, and enjoyable to work with. They were exceptional at communicating with us throughout the process, primarily by e-mail and often by on-site meetings. When various construction options would arise they would often illustrate the choice by a picture or diagram attached to an e-mail, which made the decision much easier for us. We were happy start to finish and the result was a beautiful home that we will enjoy for many years to come.”

“I am a local Realtor and have worked with Jeanne at Rooms by Design exclusively for all of my professional staging for the last several years. Her suggestions, pricing, responsiveness and attention to detail are extraordinary. In this market all homes should be staged and we often have very little time from stage to list. Jeanne is always there to make it happen. I also have recommended Jeanne to new buyers for window treatments and blinds. Buyers who are purchasing new construction are most in need of window treatments as soon as they move in. Her blinds and curtains are beautifully done and reasonably priced. Jeanne has also done work for me personally both in staging and window treatments. I don't know what I would do without her!”

“I am an electrical contractor who wired the new house on Block Island at 162 Dunstown Rd, Swede Hill. I was hired by the General contractor doing the project. I worked closely with Nick Downes of Aquidneck Properties the project manager throughout the project. Nick worked closely with all contractors, in my experience working with Nick he was extremely helpful and always available in regards to making decisions. He considered problems that arose during the project as just a bump in the road. From the beginning to the end of the project Nick made it very clear that the main objective was to do the work properly and as efficient as possible. I would welcome the oppurtunity to work with Nick's company in the future.”
