“My wife and I had decided we wanted to continue around the back of our house an existing side extension built in the 1990's. We quickly exhausted our own ideas on how this could be done and realised if we were not to make a dreadful and expensive mistake we needed professional assistance. After meeting three local architects we chose Verity on some very simple bases. She was prompt and reliable and as it turned out, very efficient. If Verity was visiting she arrived at the time and date arranged. Drawings arrived on the dates agreed and timescales were always kept to. Verity was patient in her dealings with us and helped us reach conclusions about the build that we had previously struggled with. We also felt that as a younger architect she would bring a more contemporary eye to the project than might be the case. Her manner was always professional and considered but at the same time friendly and agreeable. What really helped was her ability to see through the complexity of the build and alight on viable and interesting solutions where we could only see problems. Her attention to detail is meticulous and her clear understanding of the principles of construction meant key engineering issues were not missed. The rocketing costs of building materials and work meant that we needed to find ways to cut the cost of the build once we'd accepted a quote and chosen a builder. Verity was instrumental in working with us and our builder to find ways to reduce costs without compromising the overall look and feel of the project. Once again, her knowledge of the building industry was a great help. If anyone was looking for an architect for any type of project, I would have no hesitation in recommending Verity.”

We have lived in the extension now for a year and it’s very clear how important thought and good design are in order to achieve the result you want. It is a real joy to walk into the area each morning and experience the light and outlook.”

It had been a problem getting someone to even quote to replace the distinctive wooden front door and attached glass screen of our 1960s London house, but these guys came up with a good price and were a delight to deal with, providing the kind of personal attention and care that is sometimes hard to find nowadays. High quality workmanship too, at a very good price - plus they were happy to travel to London. Highly recommended for any bespoke joinery job.”
