“We recently finished a complete loft renovation with Angie. The loft had been converted about 15 years ago - badly - and Angie came up with a completely new way of using the space. It has utterly transformed the space and the way in which we use the room. Her ideas for how to configure the room and place the different elements was inspired. That was just the beginning - she procured quotes from builders, worked on the budget with them, helped us select one, and then project managed the whole process. She and Dominika also procured all the materials we chose (many of which we found, others which she suggested), found contractors for specialist items (eg reclaimed wood flooring installers, tadelakt plasterers), and basically took almost all of the stress out of managing a renovation. We have specific tastes, which Angie accommodated (ie she did not impose her tastes on us). We also wanted to make the renovation as green as possible, which was something of a learning curve for Atelier but one which I think they enjoyed. We had been meaning to do the work for years but weren't sure where to start: with an architect, a designer, a project manager, etc - the great thing about Atelier is that they do all of the above. We LOVE our new room so much, and can't imagine how we would have done it without AD. We would use them again for any further work without question. “Blackburn Architects we one of three we considered for our project. Ben came and presented great ideas, detailed how to achieve them and fees we competitive. He gave us advice on the outline costs of what to expect from Builders and told us about other costs we hadn't even considered. Planning was quick (as quick as the council allowed!) and easy, Ben handled everything. Once we obtained permission, Ben helped us vet and appoint a builder, something that had made us nervous. Blackburn Architects helped us with project management. He provided detailed construction drawings that the builder needed to show exactly what we expected, to meet building control and building good practice. He held regular meetings with our builder and us, which really helped us understand each step of the journey. He was always on hand for a chat about details we had sent by proto and came up with workable solutions. As things neared completion, Ben carried out an afternoon snagging for the builder to put right before our extension was handed back to us. I'd recommend Ben Blackburn to anyone in an instant.”

“I bought an old three bed Victorian terraced house that needed a complete renovation. Due to the scale and cost of the project I am having to do it in stages. Lubo is one of the most courteous, considerate and inspirational (and humorous) builders that I have had the pleasure of working with. Lubo and his team installed an entire new kitchen to my specifications as well as a new bathroom and wooden floors throughout. I also had a new heating system installed and a complete house rewire. However, I made the rather fatal mistake of sourcing local contractors (Kent) for some aspects of the project – this was a disaster and has ended up costing me a lot more money than if I had Lubo and IDL Contractors project manage and deliver the whole of phase one. There were so many things that due to other people’s incompetence left me unhappy or tearing my hair out. Lubo always managed to pull something out of the bag and found a solution to all of these little issues. Nothing was too much trouble for him or his team. Lubo kept me fully appraised of costs with detailed breakdowns throughout the project and always knew when to consult with me on something, or whether to just do something, knowing that I would be delighted with the outcome. This is categorically one of Lubo’s biggest strengths along with his attention to detail to the point of having an entire water pipe moved and relocated so that my washing machine fitted exactly as I wanted it. I can’t praise Lubo highly enough and recommend him and IDL Contractors 100%. As money permits IDL will be back to finish the renovations. I have not provided photos with this review because the house is a bomb site at the moment due to having tried to do some things myself, unsuccessfully! I will add once cleaned up as the kitchen is an absolute triumph, thanks to Lubo, and better than I imagined it! It was an absolute pleasure having Lubo and IDL work with me on this project!”
