“When my husband and I decided to sell our very small first home so we could purchase a larger home I was about 7 months pregnant with our first child. After several months of searching for a home, while slowly packing up our house and preparing it for baby’s arrival we finally decided to take the leap and put our house up on the market. By this time our son was 3 months old, and our house was a complete disaster. It seriously looked like something out of the hoarders TV show. We had (somehow) fit myself and my husband, a 3 month old baby, 3 cats and a dog in a 780 sq ft house. Dare I mention that my husband and I are both avid readers and have hundreds of books, we literally lined the walls of our little house with books. 5 days before our open house we had the majority of our items packed up and in a storage unit but my house still looked like a grungy mess and between work, a 3 month old, house hunting, packing and trying to clean and get ready for an open house (in 5 days!!!!) I was at my wits end. I called Nichol for help, she came over, took one look around rolled up her sleeves and dived in. She helped me pack up about half of the stuff I still had in the house (that I thought I had pared down sufficiently) and she moved the remaining items around in our rooms and on our shelves. Nichol instructed me about appealing to the masses in terms of decoration (I am very eclectic in my style and LOVE color) and she then brought in a few items from her own home and made my tiny little house look like a showcase! I couldn’t believe my eyes! She also gave me cleaning tips that made my house absolutely gleam. The day my realtor’s photographer came to take photos for the website we had our first offer (all cash) from someone just passing by. After our open house we had 7 offers on our little house! I just could not believe it! I know that there would be no way we could ever have received so many offers or sold our house for so much money without Nichol’s instructions and staging.”
