“You've got to meet Dipan – our home renovation superhero! We embarked on a wild adventure when we bought a shabby house with three reception rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom on the ground floor. As a family of four, we dreamed of transforming the place into an open-plan wonderland, while also sneaking in secret hideaways for the kids and some homework nooks for their future brainpower boosts. But, oh boy, we were lost in a labyrinth of wall-moving mysteries! Dipan, paid us a visit, and boy, did she come prepared with an arsenal of questions. She was practically an apologetic interrogator, and we braced ourselves for the intensity. But surprise, surprise! She turned out to be a mind-reading design genius. Who knew we wanted an island in the kitchen without a sink or cooker? Dipan did! She didn't care about "normal" kitchen trends; she cared about making our forever home uniquely ours. Dipan waved her magic wand across the entire ground floor, creating zones like a playroom for the kids, an adults-only sanctuary (no trace of children allowed!), and an open-plan kitchen/diner/tv snug where we could coexist as a family all day. And wait for it, she even smuggled in a Bootroom – it's like we won the storage jackpot! Hailing from the concrete jungle of London, Dipan understood the importance of our little garden. She bestowed upon us the grandest sliding doors and a seamless floor color from inside to outside. Our garden became an extension of our daily life, and we spent the whole summer basking in its glory. Indoor or outdoor, it was one colossal open-plan paradise. Now, we're cooking up plans to bring Dipan back for our upstairs rooms. While we don't need help rearranging walls up there, we're hungry for her creative genius in designing our daughters' bedrooms. Brace yourself for another round of Dipan's question bonanza – but trust me, the end result is pure design magic!”

She helped me to source the opportunity on Marylands road, Maida Vale and undertake a full reconfiguration and refurbishment of this three-bedroom lower ground floor flat. Annie has a fantastic creative eye for interior design; styling the flat by utilising and enhancing the flow of light throughout the property, which I thought was amazing, given the complexity of the project. Also my involvement was kept to minimum as she project managed the whole scheme from start to finish; regularly keeping me up-to-date with progress and dealing with all the snagging issues which i fully appreciated. “Nicola of Design Penguin worked with us to fulfill the vision of having a snug come cinema room. The property is a cottage and we didn't want to loose the feeling of this whilst still achieving a modern fit for purpose space to immerse ourselves in a movie experience. She listened to our desires for dark walls and a bright mustard sofa, sourced all the items and provided drawings to really help visualise the final scheme. What was brilliant was how she repurposed existing objects into the scheme, the WOW which we literally saved as it was being ripped from the side of the local woolworths building works brilliantly on the over sized shelving and dimmable strip lighting. Working well too with the gold wall lights which make the space both snug and opulent the items Nicola sourced were all spot on. She presented the scheme really clearly and was open to change, but we didn't make any changes! The total project was a complete rip out and start again (so the project costs represent this) and Nicola understood this and was patient and flexible to listen to slight alterations once the scheme was at the final stages, for example Roman blinds felt better suited to the space at the last hurdle, and Nicola worked with us to find just the right pattern and material. We are discussing a complete new kitchen next... Looking forward to engaging Design Penguin again!”

“Lisa David worked on the installation of my new bathroom. I couldn't have done it without her. I'd been trying for a year to get this done but it had all felt too much with all the decisions to be made and how to put it all together. Then Lisa offered her services and I now have the bathroom of my dreams. My bathroom was small with tall ceilings. The initial meeting, Lisa and I went through what i wanted and she came up with some great ideas that no-one else had thought of (i.e. builders and friends) like moving the door to free up a wall, installing high level cupboards that she then designed and she found a firm that made purpose built doors to fit etc. I wanted to choose the items so we drew up a list of what was needed, I selected a few choices of each item in the bathroom brochures and we went through it together to finalise. I liked having a 2nd view as without it, I don't think I could have done it on my own & her knowledge/experience was invaluable in helping me decide. She drew up initial 3d sketches so I could visualise the space which was brilliant to see before I started ordering things. She knew builders who were fantastic and that removed some stress. She helped order things, source items, was always there if I had questions and would chat with the builders about what was possible as we went along finalising everything. She would challenge the builders on things to find the best way of installation, what might be possible etc. A big strength of hers is communication so she is clearly spoken and direct, trustworthy, transparent and honest. So as she said, even with all the planning, issues may occur but when 2 small issues did, that required me to make a decision, she helped me sort them easily. I don't think all tradespeople/professions do what they say when they will but Lisa did. I liked the flexibility of the service Lisa offered and I could ask for as much or as little help as I wanted. She would go and see the bathroom every few days to check all was in order and her good relationship with the builders helped the installation go more smoothly I am sure. I am delighted with my bathroom, its exceeded expectations and without Lisa, it would not be this lovely or might not have even happened. The worrying about the process was certainly much reduced. And she saved me money with her contacts at bathroom suppliers. Friends love it and some think I have extended the room given how much more I have fitted in but its just the clever design Lisa came up with. I cannot recommend Lisa and her services enough which are quite unique..”

“I utilised Caroline’s two hour consultation service (£95) as I desperately needed some advice and ideas for my neglected 1930s hallway. As I don’t live locally, I gave Caroline some ideas and photos via text message about what I liked and didn’t like, my preferred colour palate, and what my priorities were. After some questions from Caroline and some very useful exercises looking at existing spaces and colours, and how we used the hall, she offered some simple solutions which were easily implemented. Simple things like changing the positioning of the existing lighting made a dramatic difference. Caroline then compiled a mood board for me on Pinterest with ideas for paint colours, storage solutions and suggestions for light fittings. She also made recommendations on how I could achieve a modern and coordinated hall that tied in with the existing 1930s features, yet wasn’t overly ‘matchy’. This was complemented with detailed information about sourcing items and recommending paint finishes. Caroline very cleverly sketched her ideas onto my original photo to give me an idea of what my hall could look like. This was really invaluable in helping me ‘see’ my new hall before I started work. I felt that Caroline very quickly ‘got’ what I was after. She was really friendly & approachable, responsive and offered really helpful, practical and straightforward suggestions. She didn’t impose her own tastes and encouraged me to develop my own. Initially I felt that I didn’t really know what I wanted but after conversations with Caroline, I began to gain confidence. I cannot recommend Caroline’s service highly enough. She was great fun to work with and the entire process was really enjoyable.”
