Deb and her team were professional and attentive from start to finish. Not only did they design a stunning, low-maintenance garden for us, but they also turned our vision into reality with exceptional skill and care.

We had a full garden renovation with new Patio, lawn, borders and kids barked play area with a sandpit. Overall Deb and the landscaping team from Down 2 Earth construction were excellent, with clear communication and delivered it on time and to budget. Two months on the garden has settled in well with no real issues and the garden look superb. Pros: - Input and ideas during design - Deb didn't just take our requirements and go with them, she provided constructive input and ideas to make it work better for the space and get value for money from our budget. - Clear expectations set and communicated - she and Chris were excellent at setting expectations on dates, duration, costs upfront, leaving very few things a surprise. Overall they were great at communications during, throughout and after and really gave confidence. Even when there were some changes needed or clarifications they were handled well and we discussed the best way to resolve all parties. - Dealt with neighbours - they managed the neighbours really well, did a few extra jobs to get them onside and always left worksite clean and tidy out of hours which was very appreciated by them. - High knowledge of plants - Deb is an expert in this regards and really had a clear plan around this, helped to bring a plan and provide options as we don't know a lot on this front. - Worked to budget not requirements - we had limited funds and Deb and the team found a way to get the best out of that and it brought this thing largely in on budget. Cons: - Communication on plant types - a small one but as we don't know lots about plants, it took us some time to fully understand the plan around the borders and what plants were in the plan and more explanation of that might have helped. We had to make a few late changes once things arrived to correct those, but that was dealt with well by the team and part of the territory with this sort of project.

I would highly recommend Deb and her brilliant team. Deb had a blank canvas to work with and she designed a garden with soft edges, beautiful borders and a wonderful raised deck to relax on. The garden is stunning and now provides an impressive space to relax and entertain in. Chris, Pete & Vincent worked with Deb to bring her design to life. They were professional, friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. An absolute pleasure to work with!

I turned to Deb for inspiration on a project I’d been putting off because I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted. From the vaguest of briefs she came up with the core design which was way beyond what we could have imagined for ourselves - simple but structured, elegant but practical (and within budget). The works took a few weeks and Deb kept us up to date at all times, working around any practical issues that arose. The team, led by Chris, were impeccable - so professional, hardworking and charming. We were delighted with the finished project at the time, but in fact over the last year it has been just as much of a pleasure to see the planting scheme come to life and change how the garden looks and feels through the seasons. We’ve enjoyed being out in the garden so much more this year - having a focal point that draws you in has made such a difference. Deb will be my first port of call for my next garden project - cannot recommend highly enough.

We found Deb after a long house rennovation, which had left our garden looking like the aftermath of the Somme. A muddy mess. We have a medium sized garden with lots of different levels to take into account and we couldn't visualise how to blend it all together. Deb's design was simply amazing - she thinks out of the box, with some real quirky tweaks that we love - and has made the most of our garden so we use every part of it. What I liked most about the design process was how Deb thought about our view lines - so that when we look out to the garden there will always be something beautiful growing in our eye line. She has made our garden part of our home. Always there to answer questions, Deb and her team were incredibly professional with great attention to detail. I have no qualms recommending her. A pleasure to work with.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Deb and her team! Deb came up with a design that met all of my requirements, within a sensible budget, and included added features that work brilliantly for our family - such as raised edging for the beds which makes a fab bench seat for entertaining but also for my toddler. The planting plan also worked really well with some of my existing plants which I was delighted about. The service provided throughout was first rate, the team are so hardworking and I was kept informed throughout. A super experience all round.

I contacted Deb with only a vague idea of what I wanted for the renovation of the bottom section of my garden, but rather than be put off by my woolly requirements she responded with several ideas to radically rethink the area and how we approach and use it. The result is a space that is a pleasure to see through the windows as well as a joy to be in and to use. Both her and the landscaping team took my family into account, adding extra touches for my children that they were thrilled to discover and I know will continue to enjoy for years to come. I found Deb professional, helpful and very responsive to my requirements and opinions, and I’d recommend her.

I really enjoyed working with Deb to create a planting scheme for our garden - she was very responsive, listended to our likes and dislikes and made sensible suggestions, including a redesign of the front garden which has been transformational. I contracted Deb to redesign a difficult and neglected space out the front of our house. It was a difficult brief and a very industrial space but Deb took in on with relish and I have to say that the result far exceeded my expectations. The result is a clean and smart space, which is softened through the planting, which will grow in further throughout the summer. And we can finally use what was a derelict space that made the front of our house look scruffy. I will shortly use Deb again for some minor additional works Because she listens to what I want rather than trying to convince me into something i am not comfortable with.

Her designs are detailed, she can adapt designs to suit budgets should an alteration be needed & she project manages from start to finish which enables me to address any unforeseen issues that may arise during the course of a build. Not many designers can give you that kind of service.

I gave Deb the difficult task of designing and completing from scratch a 100' garden in just 4 weeks, a combination of decking, new turf, flower beds, sunken trampoline, lighting, wires for climbing plants etc. The space has been transformed from a 'nothing' space into a beautiful garden that will be enjoyed for years to come.

I've given 1 star as there isn't the option to give 0. Hiring Bright Green Garden was the worst mistake we ever made. Having paid a substantial amount for a rear garden, two years down the line we are left with a patio with lifted slabs and broken grout, a 'pond' that doesn't retain water and raised beds with blown render, rusted edges and peeling paint. Not the high quality finish we were promised. On completion Deb refused to provide a guarantee for her work, and now we know why, as inspite of our attempts to get her to return to rectify the issues, including reminding her of our consumer rights, we have been met with point blank refusal and 'go ahead, take me to court if you want'. The amount of distress caused, not only because of the disappointment but the unpleasantness of dealing with Deb who's attitude has ranged from dismissive, to offensive, to aggressive can't be under estimated. We have never been treated so appallingly by a contractor (and having undergone 2 full house reburbs we know what we are talking about) and deeply regret engaging Bright Green Garden as once she's got her money, she literally doesn't give a damn. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

It would naturally be distressing to receive such a review if it were in fact accurate.

Sadly, the clients making this complaint (who for some reason chose to remain anonymous here) were extremely difficult to work with, attempting to micro-manage the project from the start, including filming us at work. They insisted that Bright Green Garden and our landscapers make several aspects of the build against our professional advice, including building the pond where it is and as big as it is. It was constructed to their instructions and with the warning that it may fail, meaning we could not guarantee it, which at the time they accepted and in time has proved to be true. They also specified all other materials including the grout to be used.

During the project, they accused us of shoddy work and damage that we demonstrably did not do and they refused to settle the full bill saying we would have to go to court to be paid. So we do not have their money, but they kept some of ours.

Over a year later they came back, alleging that loose paving had 'caused’ one of them to fall and break three ribs. When challenged they were unable to substantiate this claim but again they, not us, threatened court action but did not follow this up.

Another 9 months later they have discovered they now have the option to defame us online. I’m confident that anyone who knows me professionally or socially would not recognise the very personal and insulting description of me. Thankfully, we have never before encountered clients like this.

I and all the professional landscapers I work with are used to pleasant and mutually respectful relationships with clients, several of whom have commissioned two or three projects from Bright Green Garden. We have completed many successful gardens, generating excellent references to that effect, all verifiable.

We always treat constructive criticism with respect and try to understand where we can learn and be better.

The company listened to my muddled thoughts and ideas and converted them into a decking area that is both practical and unique surrounded by planting that emphasizes the curves and elegant lines. It is truly a work of art and has re-ignited my interest in my garden.

We’re delighted by the replanting that Deb designed and implemented for our town garden. She understood perfectly what we wanted but introduced all sorts of plants and even colours that I wouldn’t have had the knowledge or confidence to choose. Our garden is only small but there is colour and interest all year round now. Deb and Adrian are helping us keep the garden under control, making changes as we see what does well and what doesn’t, so we’ll always have something lovely to look out on.
