“Very impressed by this firm. It's true to say that they took us 'on a journey', converting our small garden which had become a bit of a 'rewilding project' to something beautiful and usable. Scott visited us, and we decided to go for his design service, and he came up with three plans. Once the garden was cleared of four Leylandii and an apple tree, he came up with a fourth which we ultimately went with. Once the work started, we soon saw that James, the foreman on site, was a real perfectionist, and ably assisted by Jim and Mikey, it was a delight to see a mess transformed into something we're looking forward to using. After completion, we had a couple of minor snagging issues, and all resolved speedily and to our complete satisfaction. Apart from anything else, they're all nice people, and we're missing them already. No hesitation in recommending this firm.”

“Our project was to develop a medium-sized garden, four miles from the Sussex coast, which faces south-west and suffers strong winds, lethal for many plant species, Barry Chambers of Changing Scenes, of Bognor Regis, successfully designed a colourful garden of raised flower beds, mature trees, large shrubs, a vegetable and sitting area and a stone beach with seaside plants, creating a frame for views across fields and glorious sunsets. The work was put out to tender to about five firms, with husband and wife team Keymer Landscapes, of Barnham, Bognor Regis, who I would also recommend, selected. Barry Chambers' knowledge of plants, and their survival in these conditions, is excellent, as is his ability to explain his choices without pretension. The construction and gardening was hands-on supervised by Barry who regularly returns, post-project, to add plants and check the progress of the garden and its maintenance. “My wife and I were looking for a Landscape Designer/Architect who could make imaginative suggestions for extensive hard landscaping, as well as planting, etc. Having already interviewed numerous other firms (who evidently oversold their services on their web-sites and did not seem sure at all of designing hard landscapes) James was professional and installed confidence that he would interpret our brief with his own ideas. We commissioned the design stage of the works, and after receiving a preliminary design, we had a couple of meetings to develop the design, and now we have a superb masterplan for our gardens, paved/planter areas, planting plan and budget costings, which is exactly what we wanted. We are going to phase the works and have an accurate final costing from Designscape (and await a price from another to compare costs.).”

Although not a large area it was quite a complicated project involving different levels, drainage issues, access issues and heavy clay soils. “David has done an outstanding job on the complete overhaul of our garden. We did a significant refurbishment of our house and in the process the best parts of the garden were substantially destroyed whilst retaining the worst parts! David helped us from the original planning stage right through to the installation and now maintenance. The planning was very thoughtful, taking into account our preferences whilst continually bringing new ideas to the table. The plans he subsequently produced were very detailed and allowed us to get a real sense of what we were going to get. The plans were accompanied by detailed costings which have proved to be remarkably accurate as David works with nurseries with whom he has a long relationship with. The installation was a significant piece of work but David took charge of it, bringing in specialists where necessary but also doing much of the work himself and with a small team. This allows him to make adjustments to the plans where necessary to take into account the reality of what he finds on the site. During this process we were kept completely informed through regular phone and email contact, site visits and photos. The result is nothing short of spectacular - we could not be happier - and the work on the landscaping and garden has made the effort we put into the house even more worthwhile. I would unhesitatingly recommend David to friends and indeed have done so many times.”
