Need help with my bedroom!
Comments (21)OK so this is what I am now thinking. Paint the wall behind my bedhead with large chevrons in two shades of white. Move the frames to the wall where the birdcages are (and get rid of decals), spread them out at about eye height above my bed and make them more uniform (put monochrome pictures in them and paint some of them more neutral colours). Paint that wall a slightly lighter colour than it is now - maybe a creme beige colour? Paint the window wall in the darker of the two chevron wall colours. Put my nightstand the other side of my bed and get an orange lamp and turquoise clock to put on it. Grab a few cushions to put on my bed. Find something pretty and large to put in the corner of my room - maybe a chair or pot plant? This would mean all three walls would be different... would that look strange? Also I could do with doing something about my window, I don't really want to splash out on new curtain pole and curtains but at the moment I can't shut the blind because of my vintage globe & frames etc on the sill! Maybe I should just move the junk elsewhere? Thanks for your ideas everyone - keep them coming! I am terrible at making decisions - and I am also terrible at liking what I have done, I always want to improve everything :-\...See MoreLiving room and small garden
Comments (51)hi, We are having a family reunion this July, and on the first day we've planned a picnic for approximately 200 family members and friends. It will be held on the grounds of my weekend home that was built in 1912. so I decided to create an outside living room and dining room. and I wanted it to blend in with the greenery of the grounds. so what I did, was took old furnishings that I wasn't using or I had stored up and transformed them into outside furniture. for instance, I took an old sofa and had in upholstered in a durable canvass type white fabric that's for outside use. I even skirted the sofa. I then used throw pillows of different patterns but using color schemes of turquoise, apple green and yellow. i covered the chairs in patterns of the same colors. i purchase outside rugs in turquoise and white to set the cocktail table on and the dining table. i covered side chairs in bold coordinating fabrics using the same color scheme.. i painted the side tables and dining table, as well as picnic tables in white....using an oil based paint and sealing it with a clear poly coat. i painted the dining server in turquoise, and the dining chairs in a yellow...it looks amazing, fresh, tropical and timeless. so this is something you can consider for your outside space. Comments (42)I think that the fire place is beautiful as it is and does not need any make up!! The sideboard on the right is no so big at all and if painted with different colour than grey and distressed could become a much lighter piece with its own character. I would take the top off the left one and again shabby chick it, filling the doors with ornaments to make it more interesting. It is amazing what a transformation you can achieve with a bit of chalk paint! I am using chalk paint for my oversized wooden clocks and it can give an amazing look to a piece for wood: Giant Shabby Chic Wooden Wall Clock Contemporary Large Wooden Wall Clock Rustic Oversized Handmade Wall Clock Give it try before you get rid of them:) Anna...See MoreCloakroom toilet - need inspiration!
Comments (11)Hi Anna, we always love an idea of a cloakroom with pattern tiled floor. There is a great selection of tiles out there, but it can get overwhelming. In general when designing our client’s bathroom we like to stick to a few simple rules. 1. Pair pattern tiles with simple white metro tiles. 2. If you are painting the walls in a colour, then opt for grey or black&white pattern floor. 3. If you are keeping the walls neutral, you can have a pop of colour on the floor to make it stand out-our new favourite are the concrete hexagonal tiles in a green or blue colour. A big Instagram bathroom trend at the moment. We would be happy to help you with your bathroom renovation project. We provide you with free design and professional survey, supply of tiles and sanitary ware and organise our builders for the installation of your new cloakroom....See MoreSonia
