Black or White Hex Mosaic
Hello all. Looking for opinions. I think I've settled on a hexagon mosaic floor tile for my bathroom refurb, the larger of the two sizes in the attached pic. But I can't decide white or black. I'm leaning towards black for some contrast and a bit more interest. Thoughts? Really struggling with the decision as tiling feels so long term. Thx!

Re etching not too much w calacatta polished but Carrara honed yes (another bathroom) Re cleaning No limescale remover or bleach can be used or it is ruined! Comments (6)Hi Catherine, Although the tiler could have done a better job of grouting (which should be easy enough to clean and tidy up) it may actually be the mosaics causing some of the visible gaps. These mosaics are glued to a mesh sheet which is usually 300mm x 300mm. It seems from the photos that it’s not just the joints from each sheet but also a few rogue hexagons within the sheets that is causing the visible gaps. An expert tiler may repair as he lays but from experience very few are that meticulous and would argue they are not paid to be. Not what u want to hear. Understandably u want your bathroom to be perfect after investing so much time and money in it. But to be honest I think once the grout is tidied a bit (you could regrout in a different colour as well) then you’ll be very happy and it’s one of those things that no one else would notice anyway. PROlast yearPersonally, I'd probably go with a Carrera mable effect (softer and more interesting than white) or possibly grey, as black can suck the light & colour out of a space if not careful.
Or alternatively, why not really push the envelope with the "Lily pad" tile from Ca' Pietra? Available in a wide range of colourways, able to be laid in various patternsw for different effects - a real statement piece! We're just finishing a bathroom using them now - will need to get some photos uploaded...

last yearHey I have those tiles in my bathroom, they are from Ca Pietra. I really love them. We went for a random pattern rather than uniform. Here is pic in case it helps with your decision making.
