Kitchen or dining area at the garden end of open plan room?
Comments (30)Hello Colourwise Design, Thought I would give you a visual of what I had meant. I have used Jonathan's drawing as I use sketchup personally for spatial drawings in 3D. However this means you get to see the same kind of view though with his design and scale. Also offers me the chance to show you how the materials can effect the overall appearance as I have deliberately chosen a material colour to blend with the flooring (or as close to so you can see what is solid) which can be done in a myriad of ways so things appear less solid and thus give a more open room configuration ... Have copied Jonathan's chairs which I have slid under a little more. So you have flow and a very simple configuration which does not hinder the exit to the garden which I think you will want to retain personally. So it could be that the first section houses sink, dishwasher. FF could be in left corner where room opens out? Hob could be at dining end. So cook and serve idea. This also allows for the additional room where the area widens. You still have flow between task oriented routes ie sink to ff and ff to hob etc. Making use of height with a single width double ff and perhaps considering a wall oven and some wall hung cupboards on that wall to the right of the image. The dresser might be able to situate to the right of the window on the left of the image. Down draft on hob or overhead extraction and ceiling hung pans or a section underneath hob for pans etc.. So this idea could either be solid with build in cupboards which I would propose have sliding doors or at dining end taper off into a table top.. Its a quick rework to show you what I had envisioned as I saw it. Re the door in to kitchen, perhaps consider a door that is sliding for example a pocket door. : ))...See MoreNeed Flooring help please for an open plan kitchen/dining/living space
Comments (21)Hi there, When it comes to engineered wooden floors they have been designed to work in conjunction with under floor heating so there is no issue there. If you are looking to go for a wooden floor then we would recommend going for an engineered board with a brushed and lacquered finish. The brushed texture will hide and scratches or scuffs that may occur, the lacquer on the board. Generally our boards come with 8 coats of Super Matte Lacquer. The lacquer will help protect the board from any spillages seeping into the board. If you have an idea of the colour you would be looking to go for we would be more than happy to suggest some suitable products. We also have some very realistic laminate Flooring by Kronoswiss. The Kronoswiss origins ranges comes in at 14mm thick. It is An AC5 Grade, each laminate is graded between AC1 - AC5. AC5 being the most durable. These boards have been designed to take heavy traffic. The origins range comes with the new Aqua stop technology, stopping spillages from seeping into the board for up to 72 hours. Giving reassurance if any spillages do happen. Here are some of the boards from the Origins range. This is the Kronoswiss Rock Oak Kronoswiss Moon Kronoswiss Sunset. See full range here. If you do have any further queries or suggest a colour of flooring we will try our best to point you in the right directions. You can either give us a call on 0141 8875 5698 or you can drop us an email at info@floormonster.co.uk kind Regards, Floor Monster Team...See MoreWe are in! Open plan kitchen dining family room
Comments (27)I would have snapped it up too. I'm actually put of by 'staged' houses, I'd rather buy somewhere that needs bringing back to life. It looks fabulous now, but probably looked fabulous in it's heyday. We looked at a house that was very retro and sixties and although the estate agents were sniggering at the decor, it was obvious that the couple who initially had it were arty and stylish in their day....See Morehelp with paint colours for open plan room
Comments (56)I completely missed that! LOL. Mornings ;0) - the door will indeed be painted the same colour. I just took it off to paint all the door frame and it’s on my list for the next rainy day (been starting the garden tidy up now the patio is done as it’s a mess!) Only pain is that from the hallway it will be painted a lighter colour so now I have to sand down all the drips on it and the frame as I made a mess, ha ha. Would have loved dark doors in the hall BUT it’s a tiny space with barely any natural light and has 5 doors in it!! (Bungalow) pfff. All wood so have to paint them (horrified smiley face inserted here!!)...See MoreOnePlan
