What will you be doing this Valentine's? Will you be heading out for dinner or will you have a quiet night in? Or perhaps you're going out with a group of friends?.

We're having an anti-Valentine's Day house party! None of our group of friends are big fans of the cheesiness that comes with Valentine's, but a good excuse for a party nonetheless :D

go shopping or do some cooking :) the log fire is pretty much essential, so is the cup of tea, and rain is actually quite good for making me work instead of just looking out the window doing nothing... or on Saturday I cleared out my wardrobe and guess what...I found loaaaads of clothes that are actually fine so just as good as going shopping!!!:D

It varies from week to week and month to month, at the moment I'd say around 2, but like you Tom I don't have anyone to look after! Would takeaways be their own subcategory!? The expense of eating out but within the comfort of your own home. It's interesting how many variables come into play with this - I am curious to know how it fluctuates/changes for other Houzzers!

We are attempting to bribe our teenage daughter to be waitress for the evening, so we can have romantic dinner for two at home ... probably won't happen as she will suddenly get a 'better offer' and we will have to serve ourselves and be alone all evening - what a shame !!! I'm sure we'll get over it !!!!!!!!!! tee hee !

Don't celebrate it! Don't get me wrong, my husband and I love each other to bits but its another of those days that's been ruined by the commercialism.

Yes I agree the day has been ruined by the commercialism but maybe a good day to celebrate friendship and love within the family! A good month to say nice things to people and make small gestures!

I'm going to Liverpool with friends and spending the evening of the 14th at the pub where the Beatles had their big break! :)

Years ago we went to Bath for the weekend not realising it was Valentine's Day. We couldn't get a table in a restaurant anywhere in town and pounded the pavements all evening. We ended up in McDonalds! It really put me off going out/celebrating Val Day such a commercial occasion where we all behave like lemmings. McD was delicious BTW.

Valentine's Day is also our wedding anniversary. We tend to stay in with a takeaway or M&S meal and eat out some other time when it's quieter.
