Which Digital Shower?

Hi,

We will be creating a new bathroom soon and would like a digital shower. We have not had one before, so just wondered if there are any recommendations. I know I would like a concealed system and we have a combo boiler. Any recommendations for brands, or ones to avoid? Thanks

We put in an aqualisa digital shower in our old ensuite upon our plumbers recommendation. It has a control which you can situate in your bathroom or bedroom etc that you switch on and when the light flashes it lets you know when it's reached your set temperature. They're not particularly cheap but I would highly recommend. Our shower enclosure was small but not an issue as the shower was so good. We installed maybe 2/3 years before we moved and didn't have any issues with it.

Thanks Minnie101. Aqualisa seem to have the market when it comes to all the high street bathroom shops etc and whenever I search on line. It always makes me a little suspicious lol! So it's good to actually get a recommendation for them.

There has always been a debate on which shower areas people prefer. Some like a wet room where the showering area is exposed and can be concealed with a shower panel and wont have a shower tray. Alternatively, you may like a walk in shower where a cubicle (or wet room space) is open with no need to open a door and will have a shower tray present. Others, prefer a cubicle which keeps the shower confined and segregated. whats you preference? It's always a personal preference so we would like to know what you like.

Hi @A.S. Our Hive the same as the photo posted above. It really has transformed the way in which we manage our heating and hot water. Yes, it's only taking a reading like your old thermostat from one point in the house - in our case the hallway. For now that's good enough for me to control the heating and hot water timings. Plus close off TRV's in rooms not in use. I cant believe for years we would simply set the timings for the winter and that's it. Now I tweak it almost daily - especially if the weather is surprisingly warm or cool. Bgas are doing a special offer of £150 installation.

Hi Vicki, I would go for bigger tiles, ones that are 60 cm x 30 cm. If you use smaller tiles the outcome may look too busy with your chosen floor tiles. I also suggest choosing very light grey wall tiles, the colour of which matches to the grey background colour of the floor tiles. That would give you the industrial sort of vibe you are aiming to achive. Order different samples and see how the combinations look in your bathroom. We used cement board in our shower area, yes it needs proper waterproofing. Green plasterboard for the ceiling and other walls. Hope they did not use 'regular' plaster in your bathroom. And why plaster over tile?

You might also like the Mira Platinum or Mira Vision which are available as dual valve showers. You can have one of the outlets going to your bath spout and the depth and temperature of the bath can be programmed in. If you search online you can get some good deals.
I am hoping to get one at some point.

thanks, I didn't know you could get one control for bath and shower. That sounds very interesting as it's usually the kids that use the bath more than us, so would be a handy feature to set it running while I go and run after them to drag them to the bathroom lol!
