Need help to improve kerb appeal and rear extension advice
Comments (6)Front: Renew the windows to the main house. Put in some metal frame units. Change the colour. Try Velfac. They do a unit which is timber on the inside. Break up the garage wall with some planting/ shrubs. Possibly more planting around the border of the garden. The flat roof part of the house isn't great - may be add a pitch... Rear: New windows to the main house. I agree extension right across or 2 new extensions that match with a courtyard between with new doors from house. Again, break the elevation/site lines with some additional planting. Pitched roof over the flat roof would definately help here....See MoreImprove kerb appeal of 1958 bungalow
Comments (20)A lovely sized bungalow! I think the problem here is that the scape seems to blend into one and there is no focal point. A coat of paint to the render would work wonders and I agree with the other comments to add in and change the current shrubbery. If you have chance to change the doors, I would suggest a colour other than brown, with so much roof space the brown is very overwhelming. I would also suggest some outside downlighting against the render. Good lighting can improve the look of any home. This doesn't have to be expensive either. Hope this helps and good luck...See MoreImprove kerb appeal
Comments (9)Just a few things:- I don't think you need to make a radical change, however, the thing that stands out most is the fact that the wall all around is crumbling. The wall at the forefront shows the worst damage, so i would be tempted to render that to improve it. Also, nearer the top up by the front door, the frontage does not match with the other side and it has very dated stone inserts. I would also remove that part so that it matches the other side. Although this time of year is awful for the garden, I think it's better to present it as tidy as possible with no dead plants and a little greenery, so maybe you could put a couple of evergreen standard box up by the front door. I don't think huge changes are needed, but the wall won't help as it's dated and crumbling, so if you can make it look better, prospective buyers will not think that they may need a new wall soon after they move in. It also makes for a better looking entrance to the property and invites you in more....See MoreHow do I improve the kerb appeal of my new house?
Comments (6)Aesthetics aside, you could consider some life-style-technology? Consider getting great Wifi around the home and then adding some intelligent lighting from Lightwave - these affordable units could mean simple control over a few lighting circuits: have a scene that comes on when it gets dark? A scene for evening meal or chilling in the sitting room? And dont forget the front door or garden lighting. Add to this a Ring door bell and even some control over the heating [also done via lightwave] to keep the costs down but also gives easy control. When people read about these life-style options they may see this a nice premium over and above the other homes they're viewing. Good luck...See Morekovig
