I love the metal above stove! How was that done?

From a previous answer from Sustainable Kitchens: "our clients love France and wanted to incorporate it into their kitchen. Its a stainless steel cut out of france."

The owner is an experienced metal worker and he cut the piece out himself. Not sure what technique he used on this.

I am lucky enough to live in a flatshare that has a fireplace, even if it doesn't work! I just love the way it brings the room together and encourages snuggling up on the sofas with a nice cup of hot tea and a good book to read! There is something very homely about a fireplace and although our one is bare of any mantlepiece decorations, one of my favorite artworks claimed its spot above it almost as soon as I stepped foot in the house! The color of the marble and the undertones in the paintings couldn't have worked any better if I wanted them to and I feel like the dimensions are pretty well balanced! My flatmates certainly didn't oppose!

Black or cream stove?

Enamel is easy to clean but if it gets damaged (eg by overfiring the stove or chipping a corner), its appearance will be permanently spoiled. Stoves with a sprayed finish are trickier to keep clean but they can at least be resprayed every now and again to renew the appearance.

Is tv mounted above a tall stove/fireplace too high

I agree with The Snug Ltd - Not only do T.V's above a fireplace ruin the focal point of the fireplace for me, it's just too hot. I found this interesting article which when read through explains why:- Digital Trends . I'm sure that the room can't be so small that it won't fit a small t.v on a little cabinet at the right height. We have one in our snug which rarely gets turned on, except for when the grandchildren come round. We watch TV in the lounge where it sits adjacent to the much larger fireplace. We did buy a larger T.V at one point, but took it back and changed it for a smaller one as it just dominated the room, and detracted from the Fireplace!

There may be to many finishes if you go with the black mixer, do I'd be tempted to say go with the gold fittings but you don't necessarily need to go brushed, take a look at our finishes (even if just for inspiration) https://www.thewatermarkcollection.eu/the-finishes/ - we've got a number of variations of gold's and brass's which you might like.
