Kitchen remodel help
Comments (5)I have been thinking the bar by the window would be antisocial too. Here's a new plan which incorporates some more counter and cupboard space. but leaves room for a decent side table. I'm thinking just using a table would be far cheaper than a custom built bar. I've added a new shallow counter top in the bottom left part of the kitchen. I was thinking it could be a good microwave / tea / toast station away from the oven & sink area. More storage and countertop is essential so I'm keen to create more of this, but does anyone know if using shallow cabinets will incur a lot more expense? Any ideas on what else i could do with that corner space?...See MoreFirst Kitchen remodel - advice please?
Comments (2)As you've chosen Dulux Rock Salt for your walls, I would be inclined to have their satinwood paint mixed in the same colour for your wall units in stead of an off white. An off white is likely to clash with your tiles and worktop. Whereas, if you have your wall units the same colour as your walls, they will tie in and give a more polished, seamless look. If you want you could go for a darker grey on the bottom. Pain the units in Satinwood as it's a longer lasting paint. If you like the Wilko paint colour, get a tester pot and get it mixed and colour matched at Dulux, it will be the right paint then. A dark pewter grey will go with your tiles, worktop and wall units. The ceilings should be matt white. I hope you're taking the opportunity to have a little shift about of the units, the great big Chimney is far too large for the room and needs to come out along with the shelf running round the top. Here you see if you use the light colour on top to match the walls, with the dark on the bottom everything looks light and airy. Good luck....See MoreBefore & After: A cramped kitchen re-modeled to an inviting open space
Comments (6)Hi everyone. We are sorry that you feel this way, so we have attached a few images below to demonstrate the entire kitchen before the makeover. We tend to use 1 - 2 images maximum for this type of post and we can see that this has limited the ability for full clarity on the kitchen before. We hope this helps and thank you for engaging with us!...See MoreKitchen remodel and build
Comments (12)I can appreciate how very proud you are of your work and so you should be and I'm sorry this isn't what you want to hear, but whilst I can appreciate it would be wonderful for a bit of "theatre" when entertaining guests and how captivated they may be by the lighting display (although I'm not sure it would cut any ice with anyone I know), I'm at a bit of a loss to see how the kitchen would function every day as a working kitchen. I'm not a great fan of style over substance and I simply don't understand the odd, disjointed set up. For me the function of a kitchen is far more important than any amount of feature lighting or statement pieces. It seems the bit with the island, is all for show and the "back kitchen" is rather austere (and if you don't mind me saying) somewhat unappealing and quite grim to work in. Not least because the Cinderella kitchen appears to be poorly laid out with little thought given to function. All that said, if it were done for a client, I'm sure they were delighted with it....See MoreAll Seasons Nursery & Landscaping, LLC.
