Need help for kitchen glass splashback

Planning a printed glass splashback behind the hob with kitchen units being light grey (pebble grey) . Will this look too bright ? Any other ideas please?

Hello,

To me it doesn't look too bright at all. But it also depends how is the lighting in your kitchen, surroundings and other colours you have used. Obviously, against a dark colour will look bright.

Is this the print you wish to have?

I think the kitchen will look great with the updates, the cabinets look good to me. I would however remove the 2 glass fronted ŵall cabinets. "Old hat" but why not grey for the cabinets as it ties in with the blinds in the living room? For the worktop have you also looked at the marble effect Quartz as its classic and should never date. Rather than tiles have an upstand and a splashback for the hob in the Quartz. Or if you want the wow, go for clear glass and have wallpaper underneath or commissioned art or silver leaf etc or even just a tiled splas hack. I also like your choice btw, i wouldn't pay attention to the kitchen company, it's your kitchen! Perhaps continue it down the side of the breakfast bar? have you considered cup handles? I love them and they give a contemporary or classic look to a kitchen. Maybe look at adding just a few green accessories to tie in with the blue?

Hi Darren, Here are a some images showing some similar finishes you have specified. This is a FB colour on a plain glass - Manor House Grey This is antique bronze mirror below. The below also has the Antique bronze mirror as a large single panel on the wall and also fitted in the Island Niche. The below is FB Blackened - Nice and reflective, and matches the wall colour almost perfectly - looks great with the light and dark tones of the cabinets. This is a plain Bronze mirror - looking completely different to the Antique version. Finally I have one in a Dark Blue - I don't have a better image unfortunately. We did notice it did darken the niche area when it was installed a lot....this may be a contributing factor in your decision... Best of Luck, once you have decided, I'd love to see what you go with.

Did they make a template of the wall? or take detailed measurements when the worktop, upstands and wall units had been fitted? I'd want it to go up to the underneath of the wall units as you say, then seal it with silicon to the wall units so no steam can get in. If its their measurements then its up to them to resolve to your satisfaction. Does the receipt show the actual glass measurements or the size it should of been to fit under the wall units. Personally i think the fitter could see it didn't fit properly thats why he was asking you if it was ok and you were happy with the position etc. Trouble is it will be a nightmare to remove the glass and it will damage the wall when they do it.
