Comments (10)Hi love your room very similar to my own I have to agree with previous posts chair are very lovely and sofa but too crammed up together. could you put one on opposite side of sofa creating a conversation area. then I would look at small details like coffee table and mantle arrangements some fab articles on subject here and some stylish ways to work some artwork onto your walls hanging them correctly again great advice on this site. Details like this make for a well thought out space. I would loose the curtains to create a uncluttered look and make a statement of lovely window. Beautiful rug to tie the whole look together perhaps a large mirror to bounce and increase light. Take your time and enjoy the experience of creating a new living space. Move things around and repaint when you tire of things which we all do I just move things to other rooms to create a new look and keeps costs down. love to see more pics soon pics below are mine ling room in different colour ways always changing it up cheaply but hopefully tastefully I think???...See MoreLiving Room Inspo
Comments (6)Amy most of us have that problem. Our tastes change but we can't afford to throw everything out and start again. We adapt and compromise. Somewhere along the way we get a look that we are happy with and that is individual to us. If you search for grey, oak and glass on Houzz you will see some pics that might reassure you. At the end of the day you can always paint the tables white, although if they are new and quite expensive you probably won't want to do that, understandably. If you are like me me you get hooked on an idea and then can't stop thinking about how to achieve it! I am currently in process of changing my cushions to try and achieve a particular look without spending a fortune. I know this is just the start of something bigger :)...See MoreLiving Room Decor
Comments (17)I know it can be quite confusing to start with :) The lovely thing is that mid century, scandi and industrial all work very well together as they have certain factors in common. The contemporary aspect is just about updating those things with texture, colour etc to bring it up to date. Start collecting images that you like of rooms, furniture, accessories and colours and then look through them to see what the common themes are - you will be able to tell from looking at your collection what design elements you really love and pull it together from there. West Elm are fab! Also look at Made.com and Oliver Bonas accessories. If you like West Elm, take a peek at Emily Henderson (American Designer) - she has a very eclectic West Elm look - you might find lots of inspiration there :)...See MoreJenny Moraes
