We changed few cushion covers for soft yellow and grey and sofas to archive that simple look

Hello Hannah, Do you have artwork already? Are you looking to get some bespoke pieces? Or purchase some select pieces? Do you have a theme, subject or genre in mind? Oh, the questions keep coming! Really, the most important question is: Do you wish to theme your room around the colour and style of your sofa and arm chair, as you already have these? Ultimately, whatever you're answers are, you need to firmly fix in mind some key pieces of furnishings that you REALLY love, then build your room around those key furnishings. Once you've established an "anchor" to build on, every decision you make on decorating that room will be so easy! So, if you can follow through with a response about artwork, it'll be great to see where you're going with that subject also!

If you've re-plastered and removed the shelf from above, etc., I'd just put a plant on it, like a Philodendron. Something that can live in a dark(ish) corner. If you put a table/floor uplighter behind it that will shine up the walls and light up that corner in the evenings, I think it could be a lovely effect (this one is from (loads available, for example on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Astro-4532-Limina-Uplighter-Plaster/dp/B005LVJPH2 )

I know it can be quite confusing to start with :) The lovely thing is that mid century, scandi and industrial all work very well together as they have certain factors in common. The contemporary aspect is just about updating those things with texture, colour etc to bring it up to date. Start collecting images that you like of rooms, furniture, accessories and colours and then look through them to see what the common themes are - you will be able to tell from looking at your collection what design elements you really love and pull it together from there. West Elm are fab! Also look at Made.com and Oliver Bonas accessories. If you like West Elm, take a peek at Emily Henderson (American Designer) - she has a very eclectic West Elm look - you might find lots of inspiration there :)
