Kitchen help - what can we do to make it look better?
Comments (65)Depending on how far you budget goes, I would look at adding traditional cornice and pelmet and replacing the plinth with a similar oyster colour. End panels for wall units could also be replaced / added. Some chessboard style tilling in 3 colours would also bring out the walls. It's hard to tell but is the oak surround also on the wall units? I haven't checked your location but this is something we can help with...See MoreNeed help for re-design of kitchen
Comments (2)Hello Sarah, I would always recommend using a sample board. Often elements, paint colours and fabrics can look lovely in isolation but it's only when you see them together that you can decide if they work. If it works on the board it will work in the room. I'm guessing from your description that your new kitchen will be contemporary and you're wanting a tile or flooring material, for example Karndean, that will zone but not sever the dining area? One idea we've used in the past is to use two similar tiles. If you have dogs, you might find a wood effect tile or something like a mid or dark grey 600mm x 300m would work - matt (and non slip) but not riven. We've used Walls and Floors and Tons of Tiles quite a bit in the past. Regards Amanda...See MoreNeed help with kitchen (re) design please
Comments (0)Looking for design advice and help with 3D rendering of the design please. Happy to pay for the consultation. This is a new kitchen, done as part of a full refurbishment. Due to some structural issues elsewhere in the house, the initial layout was a compromise. But, now the structural changes situation has changed allowing for hopefully a better kitchen design. Have posted earlier on here and received some great advice. So, we are having one last go at getting the kitchen design right. Hopefully, you all can help me achieve this :-) Below is a picture of the kitchen and the measurements, with the following change : the vertical radiator and the door next to it is now gone. So, its a long wall there.. Also, Hob run has to stay as it is. Hob and oven don't have to be close as we don't use the oven much for cooking. Here is our working (re) design: [Its not set in stone, so, please feel free to comment :-) ] - Move the tall units to left wall (i.e, to 1 in the diagram) -3,4,5 : Long run of base units with worktop , sink in the middle, dishwasher to the left of the sink. and 7,8,9: shallow half height wall units; with glass splash back. The corner bases of 5 and possibly also 3 will be unusable. That is okay. Not sure : 7,9 : fill with the same half height wall units as 8 or use open shelving for 4 and 5 and use half height wall units for 6? Thank you all...See MoreHelp re kitchen design
Comments (9)Just looking quickly, here’s what I think: Definitely a no for the microwave position. It’s too high and a hazard for lifting out hot bowls with such things as soup. Why aren’t you having the oven in a tall unit the same as you currently have? Have a single oven and an integrated microwave over it. Is the corner unit a 900 x 900L? If those are straight corner bases you‘ll need to drop on your knees to access the corner which is a nightmare whereas a 900L gives you the opportunity to open each door individually or together allowing full access to the corner. A 3 drawer pack is better than a 4 IMO as you get 2 deep pan drawers which are better for saucepans (but I’d place the oven there). Also a 800 mm drawer pack is a fabulous size with superb storage if you can swap something around to accommodate this size. Over the other side I would have 2 tall units. One for the integrated fridge/freezer and then a larder unit alongside it doing away with the base unit. Looking at the image you have space to put them on the same wall as the door....See MoreMain Line Kitchen Design
