sink and storage ideas

I have a wall (185) in the bathroom with pedestal sink and tired shelving beside. I would like a cool sink and storage wall idea for storing toiletries and also stack towels.

A vanity unit with sink provides a fantastic storage solution. You could even fit a matching vanity unit and storage cupboard next to each other for example.

Hi Josie this is a quick reaction as havent had much time to think,, but for starters the wall next to one with poster on needs using as you say and although corner design sounds good , Im wondering if you would get more out of that space by going floor to ceiling with a fitted unit flat against that wall , not very deep say at a guess without being there,,400mm deep by say 600 wide ,,,(I know you have to access the bed so maybe this wont work but...) ... and leaving an open box shelf within this tall unit for Tv .The rest being cupboards with touch close doors for max storage and no handles.. You could colour block that open bit by painting say soft grey as a feature. That feature could be repeated in a bookshelf elsewhere for example ( We have aspbergers in wider family and understand a little about reducing anxiety from viusual overload.) You could get the makings of that unit in Ikea. otherwise custombuild. Im sure you dont want to rethink your bed purchase but combination storage beds are so varied now ,, finding the right one could be a real investment in the circumstances. Things like ladder position, desk position and clothes storage, will all make a lot of difference as you are well aware already. If your son helps choose it would ensure he feels at home with it. Just make sure your measurements are spot on if you are looking . I can see a few mm could be crucial if it doesnt fit. Im finding it hard to make out the real position of the end of the bed and the "jutting out " bit of wall, A rough floor plan with measurements in cm or mm would help . Having worked in kitchen and bedroom design I must say you do have a challenge here josiewosie woo1,,sorry nearly forgot the woo... But theres always a solution !! Apologies this is a not more comprehensive an answer but do see your dilemma here and the reason why you need throw it around. Your ideal answer is really a good local,' design concious' carpenter/handyman who would refit room from scratch. ( I do have one at home but unfortunately hes not available right now Sorry....) The first option seems to work better when you add furniture in? Given they'll be starting secondary school soon'ish I don't know whether a wardrobe and chest of drawers is a better option for their uniform? You can also use the bottom of the wardrobe for shoes, sports equipment etc and I'd pick a colour that blends into the wall. I personally wouldn't do 2 feature walls however use colour blocking to zone each of their spaces. Try and find a blue and yellow that work together and add a couple more complementary shades. I've added a couple of pics but there are loads online. You could do a geometric shape or border etc. Having their duvet in their colours may be an idea too. I would probably go for beanbags for seating which can go at the side of the bed when not in use. Is their room under the bed for baskets for toys? Maybe also shelves over the bedside table?

It all looks great - practical, nicely & simply finished with a nice handle. BUT (and I hate to raise it, but it is a big but for me) - the section to the left of the TV looks to me as though they got the door sizes wrong. I would expect the bottom edge of the doors & panels to be perfectly in line with the bottom of the drawers and units to the right. I cannot for the life of me understand why these are different. It throws out the plinth line and the line of the door "stiles". If it were me, I'd be getting the contractor to replace these at their cost, unless there is an extremely good reason for this. How was in in the original design? Sorry to raise this, but it just seems awry!
