Wall colour help please
Comments (7)I'd also go for white on the walls. Try little greene slaked lime. Your windows look very similar to their mid lead colour so I'd go for the dark lead on the front door and frame. I assume you're not adding door furniture so a porch light would also signify the main entrance. Once you have steps and plants/pots etc it should stand out as the front door. You could also try painting pots in the dark lead to coordinate. Maybe also make the front door steps a little grander....See Morekitchen wall colour....help
Comments (1)I think i'd be tempted to colour match the paint to the cream metro tile for a seemless finish. ( ie, take the tile to the paint shop and get it scanned for an exact match ) You already have three colours going on and the black is going to be sucking the light out, therefore, everything above being neutral will put the light back in. Make sure you have gloss metro tiles to reflect the light....See MoreKitchen wall colour help!
Comments (11)Thank you both very much. We originally went for cornflower white as it appeared to just have a very tiny hint of grey-blue, and we were trying to continue the theme from our lounge which has just been decorated in 'sea mist' by johnstones (grey-duck egg colour, brilliant white woodwork with calico/dirty cream furnishings, and F&B elephants breath coloured linen style curtains). Evidently this attempt hasn't worked though! We didn't find any warm whites that didn't look too yellow when we were doing our (very limited) research, so I'll have to have another hunt around. Thanks vansoire14, I've looked up F&B pointing, however as always on the Internet the shade appears quite varied in appearance so I'll dig out my F&B colourchart and see if I can get a tester. Our aim with the room is to create a calm space with hints towards vintage/retro and -accessories in natural colours/textures. We also don't want the room to look too sparse or bright in the morning (it's south facing with a large window so is flooded with light all morning. We did have brilliant white in there for a little while as a base after plastering but that seemed too clinical and stark compared to the rich wood veneer kitchen and dappled tiles. Our kitchen although from the 80s, has intergrated stainless steel handles and looks a bit like the some of the German brand kitchens. I like vintage anyway, hence why we're keeping the kitchen and tiles. Thanks again for the advice, please keep the ideas coming....See MoreDoors and wall colours help
Comments (2)Thanks Jonathan for your reply, i did not even look at french grey but i can see what you mean. Anyhow i wanted to get a couple of protective coats on before winter so went for the basic traditional Magnolia as other houses have this too in the street. Pic attached at moment but any suggestion about painting the already painted red tiles a dark grey remembering im going for black door and garage door? 2nd picture is a rubbish photoshop from my phone if you squint your eyes anyone think it looks OK?...See MoreJonathan
