Help with style

I am building a home I have mixed tastes, my kitchen is white , white and grey veining quartz counters , white sto ne backsplash and medium brown grey wood fllors. I love the caged scroll pendant look d pottery barn twig candeliers but have many other choices in fans, scones etc. I need to stay consistent but I cannot decide between this look and more modern. I want ivory furniture sectional, large dark carved square coffee table in living room , round dark dining table in dining off of kitchen. Floors will be all the same wood. What type of fixtures and fans should I go with?

My feeling is that the twig type fixtures wont "age" as well as something a little more timeless, which from your description, is what you're creating with your kitchen selections. I also feel the mass, or scale and proportion, might not be correct with the large dark carved square coffee table and a sectional which also has quite a bit of mass. They sound lovely, yet heavy. Is there a higher end lighting store where you can take sample of your new kitchen materials and images of your furnishings and get some help with these important decisions?

Yellow or orange is a great counterpoint for cushions for the sofa and maybe a rug. Curtains are more expensive to replace so it may be best to keep them neutral. There's a cute modern style rug from habitat with a grey & yellow pattern. Take a swatch of your check and see how well it matches.

Hi, you could get a nice tray, place it partly on the fabric, which I would either put straight or at a more of an angle over a table corner maybe, and put the rice bowl and other items in the tray. It just will bring it together.

I have to say, I'm leaning towards option 1. As I may have mentioned in the past, I suspect the trend for grey and anthracite windows/doors/sofitts etc will end sooner or later and what folks will find is they're left with external features that date a house but would be expensive to fix. And whilst I like the look of the grey now, I also remember liking the dark wood windows in the late 80s at the time, but now think they date a property. :-/ (sorry to offend anyone who may have them).
