What chairs should I get for our dining table?
Comments (8)Hi Charlotte - I like the Eames chairs suggested above and, as classic furniture, they won't date; I think the image supplied by Ana really sets the scene well. If you want to consider other classic chairs, there is the Series 7 by Jacobsen which comes in a multitude of colours - we supplied those below in this neutral scheme but paler coloured / white chairs would suit your proposed decor. Carl Hansen Wishbone Chairs are also timeless, and worth a look; they come in fewer colours, but are very stylish. For a softer feel, fabric chairs might also work for you - again with some colour. As for putting a rug beneath, I've seen a multitude of photos with this feature, which look fine in the photo, but I've never considered the idea practical; I would be concerned about rucking the edges with the chair legs and the area beneath the table can get quite dirty with crumbs. I think you will break up the wood-on-wood look with more interesting chairs, so personally I would avoid a rug. Hope this helps. Nick...See Morewhat style of sideboards with dining table and chairs?
Comments (4)Thank you for the suggestions! I will take a look online... at the moment, I'm really liking the scandi legs on furniture but this will clash with the traditional curved legs look? Here is a pic below of my dining area anyway, with the table above and the blue and cream chairs (table in this pic is my current smaller one). I also need a cupboard made in one corner for storage (We have nothing for holding hoover, ironing table etc) which will impact on the 'look' with sideboards.. a large blue wall clock can hold up the look with the blue chairs too?...See MoreMixing dining table and chair styles
Comments (30)The kitchen looks lovely. I like the table and it works well with the lights and I'd put the eames chairs with it or a mix of chairs (an old church chair is good for keeping kids colouring in stuff in but not sure of their age! ) What wood were you looking at? However having said that, your table is butt against the bar and the legs on this table are wider than the top so if you went for this one I think you'd need to go for a short table. As kikiamack said pedestal tables are good although hard to find a rectangular one (!) or as colourhappy said an old farmhouse one would work. Would an extending table also be an option? How many do you need to seat on a regular basis? Are the lights centred over the bench?...See MoreDining table style
Comments (19)Hi Christian, Firstly, what a fantastic space you have created, with lots of light from the large windows and a fabulous kitchen/relaxing area, I love your sofa. I note that Beano kindly recommended Go Modern and we would love to help you choose some furniture for your amazing space. I see that you are thinking of a glass table, but larger than the one you already have and some chairs to go with it, as well as a rug, a couple of armchairs and a coffee table. I think the glass dining table that you are looking at is really nice and a good size for the space, but I wondered if you had considered a ceramic table top as this might also work for you. Ceramic is a new finish in a variety of colours which is smooth to the touch and looks and feels just like marble, but is incredibly hard-wearing and perfect for families or entertaining. The Art Dining Table from Bonaldo, designed by the famous Gino Carollo is a great example as it can also be enhanced by matching inserts in the legs. Regarding dining chairs we offer a huge range . But if you’re looking for some really colourful dining chairs – how about these ? The Bonaldo Bernedetta designed by Dondoli e Pocci We also have a great selection of rugs from top names like Missoni Home and Nani Marquina Armchair wise you might want to try something completely different like the Sacco from Zanotta – they are incredibly comfortable ! For some coffee table ideas – take a look here.... So, these are purely a few of my own suggestions and may not work for you at all. However, with such a large and amazing space I thought it was worth giving you some different ideas to think about. If you would like to discuss anything in person please feel free to call our Showroom on 020 7731 9540, or if you live nearby why not drop into the Showroom on the Kings Road in Chelsea. We have a fantastic design team who will be happy to talk you through some options and many more possibilities. Finally Good luck with it all! I hope you find the right pieces for your beautiful kitchen/diner/relaxation space. Kind regards, Caroline for Go Modern PS - When you've found items for indoors - how about that huge garden I see through the windows!! We have everything you could possibly want to create the perfect outdoor relaxation area....See MoreAnna Balso
