Kitchen Range hood Size vs. Oven

Hi! My oven is 30" wide (picture is just a sample image). Should my range hood (the hood i've purchased looks just like in the picture) be a little bit wider than my oven at 36" total? Or Should i stick with a 30" range hood to match the size of the oven? I've been told that a little bit wider of a range hood will capture smoke/smell better. Thoughts/Advice?

Most kitchens have the same size hood over the range. The fans and filters typically do the work of pulling the heat, moisture and odors out of the room. Unless there is a particular look you are going for by oversizing the hood I would go with the standard 30" size. I would pay more attention to how loud the unit is and how many CFM's it is rated for. Hope that helps answer your question.

Update - alabaster painted oak units, oak worktop, (curved end units and worktop corners) belfast sink, 1100 stainless steel rangemaster porcelain large high gloss ivory 600x600 floor tiles, ivory grout - please see attached look book just still to decide on shade of sage on walls - deciding between F&B Mizzle, Vert De Terre, Ball Green and Cooking Apple Green... Also metro sub/way tiles on walls - whether to go for a sage tile or cream/white... The dining room area off the kitchen will have oak parquet floor which will follow through from hall and will also be in the lounge but Im thinking of following the wall colour in the kitchen through to the dining room for continuity and potentially painting the chimney brest or wall furthest away from and facing the kitchen a darker green complementary colour... Thoughts please

#Mrs Lanks - having altered our original kitchen when we moved in 13 years ago we are now freshening up paintwork, replacing worktops and installing new appliances as the layout we chose then still works for us. We presently have a Rangemaster but they have changed the style so are considering two single ovens either side by side or on top of each other. If the latter, does the top oven need to be supported rather than just placed on top of the bottom one.....? Also, which brand did you end up buying as we are researching Neff and Bosch which both seem to have a problem cleaning the doors as you apparently need to take the glass door out....!?

Have you considered looking for an ex-display falcon or even a graded one?? There are a number of companies that specialise in graded applicants and even graded ranges - it would be worth doing a ring around. You might even save money too. There are also companies specialising in graded ranges on eBay too.
