Help! 1 man room, 2 purposes, 3 loves. Painting desk & PC/Geekery den.
Comments (15)I was just reading the comments above and I thought I would draw it up for you. This is a really small room, as soon as you start dividing it up the space will feel ridiculously cramped with all your belongings. I suggest you make your own shelving and desk or hire a carpenter to make you something bespoke for you as it is such a small space. Give yourself a long desk, half for computer half for painting. Where normal depth furniture will hinder door access put your tv area. Put storage beneath your desk area. More importantly instead of having an intrusive book case put a shelf that goes all of the way around the room just above door height. You do not need to acccess your books everyday so make use of the limited space you have and put them up high. This also allows more wall space for your artwork. Let us know how it all goes...See MoreI feel something is missing from my man cave.
Comments (7)Liking the idea of the addition of the music collection and some music posters on the wall but if this isn't your type of thing then the sports theme would be good, maybe have some pictures of your favourite team or players and then highlight this with some feature lighting perhaps? You can create some nice lighting additions without making it too feminine :-) Or another idea would be to have some movie posters up on the wall?...See MoreDesign dilemma #living room
Comments (36)Hello. I've been reading about rugs and allergies and decided to have a go with either jute or polypropylene rug, which should be fine in my circumstances. I wander if this designs are a bit too crowded for my space: http://m.laredoute.co.uk/ppdp/prod-350020090?docid=221816 http://m.laredoute.co.uk/ppdp/prod-350039225?docid=221816# This is my favourite so far but they don't have the larger sizes available: http://m.laredoute.co.uk/ppdp/prod-324515229?docid=221816# Or this?: http://m.laredoute.co.uk/ppdp/prod-324152642?docid=221816#searchkeyword=jute rug Tomorrow I will post some pics of the room at present. It's been used as a playground so it's not great but.. Hopefully you will help me find a nice rug to add :)...See MoreBrick garden outbuilding, shed, man cave
Comments (0)Good evening, I was looking around the same before building my 6m x 5m garden shed/ man cave. Is we the anyone who has designed a 6x5m garden our building before? I was hoping to design it for part storage for fishing gear and tools, say 1/5 of the layout and the 4/5 a bar, man cave with a toilet, pool table, dart board and seating area with tv etc. Effectively creating another room from the house? Is there any design software I could try and design this or would anyone fancy having ago? I've drawn up a sketch of the proposed layout attached below. After reading through the regulations if we built the shed within the 1m boundary i believe the following would comply PD and BD. the flat roof would be no higher than 2.5m sloping backwards (roof material from either tile or rubber, total height of shed will be no higher than 2.5m) the walls would be double skin block and mortar, rendered (non-combustible) (Question - could we clad the block it in cedar wood, is this classed as non-combustible?) the total shed area will be less than 30m2 and cover less than half of the total area of the back garden. Ive attached a brief design layout of how the shed would be built. Any ideas or help or potential entail designs would be great! kind regards, Ashley....See MoreHuston & Company
