What is the tile in this picture? It's perfect!

Am remodeling (down to the studs) a 5' by 8' bathroom and am having a very tough time. I want it to be light airy and contemporary, but not "out there".

The large globe is from West Elm. The two sconces are from Sanctum Lighting.

The West Elm light does not take a very high wattage bulb so it is not great as the only light source in the bathroom

I think you've done a fantastic job, it looks so much bigger and brighter, hard to believe it's the same space, it really looks like the heart of the home. Not all of it is to my personal taste but i love how you've exposed the fireplace and the pencil wallpaper is very cute! Very minor point but I'm not so keen on the tablecloth. The mini kitchen is lovely but what happens when the child outgrows it out of interest?

You're welcome! This is an exciting project and I really hope you'll share the results, whatever you decide to do! I think metro tiles are the right way to go. You've already got pattern and bold colour covered so something more simple is probably right for the walls. Besides, it's a classic design. You could do it with a dark grout if you wanted to make a bolder statement. [This Houzz story[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/decorating-10-different-ways-to-use-classic-metro-tiles-stsetivw-vs~25104664) about metro tiles shows them mostly with dark grout and might help you visualise it. Marble would definitely work and look incredible. Just be careful to bear in mind the structure of the unit and how much weight it can hold. You have to consider the weight of the surface material, the sink, and the water it would have in it when full. Maybe even think about what you're going to fill the cupboards with and how heavy that could be. Perhaps it would be worth reinforcing the vanity in some way. Other than marble you could use tiles or just varnish the surface really well. All of these options will look great in different ways. Even though you're not DIY-ing it, take a look at this "how-to" to give you a better idea of the process. If you can't change the tile, change the plumber ... but seriously, have you had a second opinion? Maybe another plumber would get the job done. Otherwise, what about doing the floor in mother of pearl as well? Do you have a photo of the wetroom in its current state?
