i would definitely have a look at wood colouring, it is a great way to add texture to this room, especially if you want to avoid the possibility of the room becoming too bland with pale colours. I have found rosewood works perfectly with duck egg and black granite

I agree that's you need multiple light sources. In my opinion when you are sat on the sofa of an evening you need table lamps to watch Tv and just enough of a glow from the kitchen that you can find the fridge to pour more wine. When you have guests at the dining table I think you need need an overhead decorative pendant or chandelier on a dimmer to set the right mood but you also need to be able to turn it up if you are working from home and using that table. I would only have the spots in the kitchen area- probably 6 or 8 will be plenty. Put them on a dimmer too and then add over cabinet and under cabinet light

Hello, I agree with Kluk Construction above that you would need to have some downlights, otherwise it would be rather dark. The pendant over the kitchen island would work very well and you could have the industrial exposed light bulb, provided there are some downlights installed as the pendant on its own would not provide sufficient light.
