How to disguise LED transformer under a shelf

I am having 3 open shelves, one above the other in my kitchen. The bottom one is 40cm above the worktop. I'm planning to have LED strip lighting under this shelf, to light the worktop. The electrician has just pointed out that there will be a transformer which will be visible if it's put under the shelf. The kitchen supplier says he doesn't recommend under-shelf lighting because 'you can't hide the transformer'. Any ideas as to where it would be possible to put the transformer so that it's not an eyesore? Thanks.

is there a cupboard nearby that you can hide the transformer in?

Our kitchen backs onto the garage where we have under cupboard lighting. The transformers are in the garage. We drilled a hole through the wall into the garage before fitting the wall units and shoved the transformers through so they're in the garage out of sight.

You can add crown molding to the top of the cabinets, and add another smaller piece of molding along the bottom of the cabinets as well. Consider under cabinet lighting (you see how beautiful it looks in the photo). If you are adding a new backsplash, a simple white subway tile will much match any counter top you select. You can add your electrical sockets up underneath your cabinets so you don't have to cut into any of your backsplash tiles. Try to make at least two of your cabinet doors glass fronts with lighting, like in the photo you attached. Also, try the Internet to find some nicer cabinet hardware at a discount (as opposed to Home Depot or Lowes). Good luck with your new kitchen!

The frames look kind of squished on some of the shelves, but don't worry about that now. I'm not a big fan of stuff on the top of the tall unit nor how much you have on top of the short unit. I think if you remove the things from the top of the taller one, you'll like it much better. Then, put only one or three things on each shelf, and layer some. For example: put a couple of candles in front of a framed photo -- give it some depth. The shelf unit is dark, so you might want to keep your ornaments, etc. a lighter colour.

Gone through my album of our very own decorating therapy journey and found these. I hope you can see the roller black-out in the first photo, it's tucked inside the recess of the window. The Duette is a peachy colour which looks a lot lighter colour in the north-facing sun. The one in the five panel window is the room below, it does not have the roller blind but the curtains are black out. They are not as efficient in blocking out light as the roller in recess though. the curtains are from Hamilton McBride, only reason i got them were because not many wide (350cm) curtains are cheaply available on Amazon... If your room is not too cold, you can also consider wooden venetian, mine is in white colour as you can see from the 'blue room' (it's F&B's new Vardo btw), which is on the ground floor of the north facing side. 247 does oak colour too. Many neighbours asked us where we got those from!! They look great at a good price - those two windows cost me just under a £100 - but they are not the most energy efficient. They are okay blocking out light but if you have it in the south-facing room, it might not be quite enough. Do go to 247blinds and request some free samples, it's worth a try. Hope this helps! ;)

You could put bedside table next to the wall on the left and install a shelf above the heater and that can be your bedside on the right side. The room will look more balanced with the bed in the middle. Or if you can position bed to face your built in wardrobe. Either way you need to address the window covering. If you can find a heavy curtain and bedspread in the same fabric and hang curtain directly under the cornice and twice as wide as your window, that will give you the height and balance the window size and by matching fabric you will have continuity and avoid miss matching colours and patterns.

I don't have any nearby cupboards, and the kitchen backs on to the sitting room, so no hiding places there. I have talked to the electrician again and we will probably tuck the transformer at the very back of the shelf and stand something in front of it - not a very elegant solution but maybe the best we can come up with. Thanks for both comments.
