POLL: Yes or No - a Wine Cooler?
Comments (23)As wine cellar specialists, we regularly work with clients who are passionate about their wines and have the space in their homes for a dedicated wine room or wine cellar. The space might be an existing traditional Victorian or Georgian cellar space, or in a air-conditioned wine room above ground. Having said that, we are also fans of the Wine Fridge because, as Rose points out, they are a great way of keeping a number of bottles (beers and soft drinks included), chilled and ready to serve, right where you need them...in the kitchen! The benefit of freeing up fridge space needed for food, is particularly helpful if you enjoy entertaining! Contemporary Wine coolers look smart and make a wonderful design feature in the modern kitchen, with their glass door, sleek finish and interior lighting. The multitude of sizes and styles available also means that you are sure to find the right model for your home, whether its a slimline under counter model, a fully integrated wine fridge for minimalist kitchens, to full height, large capacity, free standing units. Clearly, we're preaching to the converted here, but if anyone out there is thinking of investing in a wine fridge, then you might find the following blog post helpful: Wine Fridge Buying Guide...See MoreAmerican fridge freezer housing
Comments (12)I think this is the Siemens model http://www.siemens-home.co.uk/productlist/cooling/american-style-fridge-freezers/CI36BP01. Michelle I think the first photo is aesthetically much more pleasing. The second photo seems old fashioned to me although I suppose it depends on the style of your kitchen overall (this has a more country style)....See Moreamerican fridge with water/ice or not
Comments (6)I am also not sure the ice maker is useful. Personally I prefer an integrated fridge to an American style one. On their own they are fine but most people have to build their kitchen around them which is rarely successful with a gap needed to open doors. In my opinion an integrated fridge gives you more cooling space, and doesn't spoil the clean lines of a contemporary kitchen and retains the cabinet feel of a traditional kitchen....See MoreAmerican style fridge freezer vs integrated fridge freezer?
Comments (12)Thank you all for your comments and advice. Man about the House - you're correct, bigger freezer will mean I'll end up buying more food that I don't need and then freezing it and I'll never see it again! I've always had a very small fridge freezer and I think that is the reason why we hardly waste any food as we only buy what we can fit in the fridge. The final size of the room including 3m rear extension will be 7.5m long 5m wide but the kitchen part will only go up to 4m max in length ( if I go for L shape with island ) Emily - yes planning on having a modern kitchen Jonathon - my husband likes the look of them but not bothered about filtered water/ ice dispenser. I find them very narrow inside. I do like the french door style ones but again they are bulky too and very expensive!...See MoreJonathan
