Lounge decor advice

Hi there,
I have a small lounge and I am about to decorate it. At the moment the walls are white.
I'm having a light oak floor and I have attached a picture of the wallpaper I am going to use for each alcove.
What colour would you paint the chimney breast? I want to go for a pastel shade and wondered if a nice soft & light grey would work?
I am planning on painting the rest of the room an off white colour.
Any help would be much appreciated.
FYI - the lounge photo is from before I moved in. I have dark brown furniture. The curtains will also be changed.
