Should I put in a picture wall? How?
Comments (14)Your photographs are lovely and very high quality. I would advise you to pick one favourite image in portrait format and have it made into a wall-mural. There are several companies that will use your own image to create a bespoke wallpaper, including Photowall and wallpaperink. Whichever firm you choose can make a bespoke, image that with fit the wall perfectly....See MoreLiving room rearrangement
Comments (7)Hello tia_256, Well it can be difficult yes if the room is an odd shape.. More still if the large pieces of furniture are really big.. It does appear that there is space behind the existing sofa that you might consider when you look at purchasing a new one or any new furniture.. You could make more of the room. It's a bit difficult to see but I would perhaps suggest a lighter coloured sofa and a lighter coloured coffee table.. You could paint the top.. In this way the room opens up. Have you thought of adding a large mirror? That wall where the bookshelf is could be a good location.. I would see if the bookshelf can go on the opposite wall.. to the right of the window.. It's an interesting fireplace, does it work? It's stuffed with logs which is nice.. If the current sofa can be split up.. Have a move around to see what looks good where.. Maybe you want to move the tv onto the black table somewhere else with a vase or something, so it's not so visible as the first thing you see. I would also like to ask if you are able to paint? You could choose a nice chalky colour for the doors... This would also mean the focus would revert to the fireplace... Rather than all round the room to the doors.. I especially like the one closest to the fireplace... You could paint that a nice subtle colour and the others the same as the walls... Is this door the entrance? It's bigger than the others and so could be a nice colour that stands out a bit.. Are there some black walls... I would paint those too to increase the light in the room and create the idea of more space.. Some nice pictures and also some contrasting cushions to go with the choice of the sofa... I would stick to 3 colours in the room as a guide, which includes furnishings, accessories, and paintwork.. : ))...See MoreExtension help which style should I go with? Picture 1, 2 or 3
Comments (18)I have to say, I'm leaning towards option 1. As I may have mentioned in the past, I suspect the trend for grey and anthracite windows/doors/sofitts etc will end sooner or later and what folks will find is they're left with external features that date a house but would be expensive to fix. And whilst I like the look of the grey now, I also remember liking the dark wood windows in the late 80s at the time, but now think they date a property. :-/ (sorry to offend anyone who may have them)....See MoreWhich orientation should I put up these pictures?
Comments (1)The zebra in the middle would balance out the more contemporary other ones. I would just lay them out on the floor and play around with it. You may prefer a triangle layout or an inverse triangle. Just move them around until you find a layout that you like then transfer it to the wall. I have no idea how large they are from your pics but i would not have too much space between them. They do not have to be a line. You could also stagger them. Ikea have great picture shelves too, in black so you could have them in a line on a shelf and switch them around as you fancy....See Moreilikefriday
