What type of rug?
Comments (9)Hi. The curtain fabric is quite traditional so I would go for a contemporary take on an oriental rug, something picking up the dark red and cream of the curtains with the wall colour. this website may give you ideas. http://www.benuta.co.uk/oriental-rug-nain-6la-ca-1mio-kn-sqm-green-5-1.html There are different ways of placing the rug but personally I like all front feet on as it really zones the area. To do that, the sofas would need to be pulled away from the walls and the leather towards the door if there's room? I agree with natalie re coffee table. I would also add a couple of cushions with purple trim or a pattern to the leather sofa. I'm not sure where you are in the country but this place may also be worth a try http://www.rugsofpetworth.co.uk/decorative/...See Morerug advice please
Comments (20)I still prefer the smaller rug. I've always thought a rug half under the couch looks a little odd and makes the room look smaller unless it's a very big space to play with. It's a beautiful layout and the first rug seems to fit just right for me. It's ok for rugs to 'float' in this type of space and tie the room together. I also think that corner under the chair leg on the bigger rug would quickly become an irritation!...See MoreRug advice for living room
Comments (2)I like both rugs but I think the blue rug is too much blue? I would offer to do this myself but after downloading photoshop yesterday didn’t have a very successful first attempt! Anyway I’m just wondering if the geometric pattern fights with the parquet just a little? Having said that the difference in tones in the floor I’ve attached is more marked than yours...See MoreRug advice needed
Comments (3)I would disagree personally - I would either go for a rectangle that goes under the two chairs and side table, facing the garden - to make this a little zone of it's own and to get an inward view on the room, drawing your eye into this area of the room. Or to a large circle that goes under the far corner edge of the sofa and the middle of the room, tying all the areas together. You are doing the right thing by taping them out. If you are having trouble - maybe find the rug you want first and see what sizes it comes in and plan those out to see what works. I hope it helps. All the best, Gina...See MoreA S
