Need lighting / soft furnishing ideas to go with my blue bedroom help!
Comments (7)Great work so far. I love the colour of the blue on the wall, the painting, and the chest of drawers. Are any of these pictures appealing? I'm thinking a bit of yellow would be nice to add or you can just add varying shades and textures of neutrals in the bedding, throws, and curtains or blinds. I've also included a couple with bronze as previously suggested....See MoreNeed help with tiny cloaroom without natural light.
Comments (0)It's a tricky one - for small rooms with no natural light you either give a blast of 'daylight' bulbs and bright white - but this can be too much / so perhaps go muted Matt colours and paint rather than tiles and a warm white light in there - might be a less stark environment that way ... Sort of Cosy even !...See MoreAny layout photos for a dining room/library /study please
Comments (7)Thank you all. I’m up to my eyes with tradesmen as this is a full house Reno so days are disappearing . Hoping photos come through this time. Taken from the doorway looking towards conservatory which is the “window” . Only other windows are two small original lead lights to either side of French doors. No fireplace. Other aspects if the home will be traditional / contemporary to stay in keeping with the age and characteristics already present. Informal dining will will be in the kitchen , which will be used most. This room will be dinner parties , special occasions , so I thought perhaps a table that could extend . I don’t want garden type furniture in the conservatory but I have seen rattan chairs that look casual but definitely smart too. My problem is that I see lovely bits and pieces but I don’t think they tie the rooms together. I am hitting a blank , so was hoping that someone might have more ideas radical or otherwise that can assist. My benefit is that at present I have no furniture for either room so I have flexibility. Thank you all so much for your time. much appreciated....See MoreF&B paint colour for north facing study
Comments (11)I think it depends on what else you have in the room. My Mum has a north facing room with lots of yew furniture- she painted it Vardo and it look superb. Given it’s a study it likely there is not much wall showing and plenty of furniture so I say choose a colour that works for you rather than a neutral then break it up with plenty of pics. Separately I have always used Daiseys trick of getting Johnson’s to mix the Farrow and Ball Colour. I’m not sure you save that much but you do keep your decorator happy- I would add that during the pandemic the quality of the colour matching and the quality of the paint at Johnson’s has gone down. Right now I would buy the real Farrow and Ball paint....See Moreslimberley
