Rug ideas
Comments (8)Main question with expensive rugs is "do you really love the rug, independently of fashion trends?". I do worry that expensive graphic designs are very much in style now but could well be something which palls very quickly as trends move on and you get sick of the pattern. I'd always go for cheaper rugs for these "fashion-led" designs. Does your selected design go with your sofa? Yes, I think it does. Other issues are: (i) what wall colour are you going to use?; and (ii) is the high-shine wood flooring in picture no. 1 as warm-toned in reality? It's easier to get tonal and colour matches to work if you are dealing with the same undertones. The floor looks like it has warm, yellow-based undertones while your sofa and proposed rug are cool, blue-based shades. Brought together, they may seem a bit "off-key" due to the flooring being warm versus their cool. This isn't a point about the rug but about each of them....See MoreNeed rug ideas
Comments (5)Yes low pile and patterned are best for hiding any marks. You can also get machine washable rugs. I bought a jute rug as I had heard they are good at disguising any marks and that is true, but mine is quite thick and holds on to so much dust and crumbs in all the crevices, I have to regularly put it on the washing line and beat it with a stick because hoovering just doesn't cut it....See Moreliving room design
Comments (5)I love everything you've got so far (especially the wallpaper!) but for me this needs an accent colour, even if it's through a natural material like wood. Are you planning to bring in other colours through curtains, cushions, etc? Yellows and pinks work well with grey and you could then introduce a different colour rug. I don't mind mixing patterns but for me the rugs you've got above don't work with the wallpaper....See MoreRug ideas please!
Comments (44)Ah - that's because the old one got too long. Here's the new one - can't believe we're at Part 3! Almost there - I so want to move in now... Thanks for reading: looking forward to your comments! And I still need a rug (several, in fact!) https://www.houzz.co.uk/discussions/victorian-renovation-in-london-part-3-finish-line-dsvw-vd~5007838...See MoreCarolina
