Hi Mutleyz. glass splash backs are great and easy to clean. you could go for a white sparkle one adds a bit of fun but doesn't tie you into a colour. I would put roman blinds at the windows and door clean and simple in keeping with minimalist styling. Lime and teal with be lovely a good choice and lots of options, harlequin, sanderson, prestigious,villa nova, all good fabric companies you should find something there. John Lewis stock most of their ranges or if you have a local curtain maker ask her I am sure she will be reasonable making made to measure. or simple plain fabrics with a contrast border. with the dining sitting space dilemma which would get used more? are you likely to sit in the kitchen? or would you go to the living room for that? I would lean to putting in a dining table. Although you say you wont use it, it is surprising how much you will. If you have friends or family over for dinner you will need a table. If you don't have one you are restricted, if you want a comfy chair you do have the lounge anyway. and yes Cif if great for stainless steel. I use the plain one in the yellow bottle and it is the best. hope some of that helps, but you are doing great so far.

I think you can make the table work without removing the bench. The bench I think goes nicely with the subtle rustic/country undertones of your kitchen - specifically the panelling under the breakfast area/island. It’s a lovely wall colour and nice wooden pieces of furniture. But as you said it’s bit wood heavy. I would add more white. I’d maybe paint the fireplace mantel white and add a white shelving in the alcove (or add a floor mirror in the alcove, which would expand the space. Then you’d need to swap the mirror above the mantle to a an art). Hang some white shelves above the tv. Change the table to a lighter set, with more living room feel, upholstered chairs but the same time lighter, slimmer. I’d go with Scandinavian or midcentury design pieces. And create a designated dining area for the table. Move the light from the centre of the room to above the table and create a feature light. You can just add a longer light cord and hook it to a hook above the table. I think rug is a good idea, go for low pile colourful rugs to zone the lounge area. Put the tv stand straight and turn the tv to the angle you need instead. Even better, if you hang the tv on the wall with on an adjustable arm.
