Hi I'm wondering if you could help with my kitchen, I love the kitchen itself and the worktops but hate the magnolia and the walls, I like the blind I made with a fabric remnant and the accessories but the room doesn't really tie in with the conservatory that joins onto it. I use the conservatory as a dining room/office/play room and really want to keep the blue in there. I want both rooms to feel like one big space but can't really paint the kitchen the same blue as its a bit dark as the conservatory filters the natural light. Any suggestions most welcome, please bear in mind I'm on a tight budget and time poor.

I'd pick out the shade of blue from the blinds (which are lovely, BTW) and paint the walls a couple of shades lighter (than in the image): a really light blue or off white, with blue tinge. This well help create a light, airy, reflective space

Thank you for your advice Asifa, I love the image you have added.... I'll get some paint samples... I was leaning towards a blue/grey that photo gives me something to work with. Thank you

I think you're rather stuck on where to put a fridge freezer now the kitchen is done because it would need to go on the end of the run because of the height. I guess you could put it in the dining area along with a couple of larder units to make it one long continuous run if you're opting for a smaller table although I do like how it currently is. Regarding corners I would always plan a 900 L shaped base in each corner because you can then open each door offering you full and easy access to the whole area. Much cheaper than installing chromeworks in a cupboard for a decent brand.

If you are on budget, what about a row of shaker pegs? The whole length! Can hang decorative items, dried flowers, tea towels, aprons, frames, baskets, even gym kits.... Could even use sheets of mdf tongue and grooves on the wall... all relatively cheap and would suit the style of your kitchen! Ideally, I also think a swap between door and right window would be ideal; could then put floor to ceiling cupboards on the right, as you come into kitchen, for extra storage! The swap shouldn’t cost too much as you already have the lintels...

Hi Emma Good to reach out and ask for advice. I can see why, you have a lot of entry/exit points. It reminds me of a kitchen we are planning with the same amount of entry/exit points. On this one im trying to avoid a 360 degree kitchen and limit the core kitchen area to 3 walls. This you have, but I suspect the two doors opposite each other are a major traffic way? Perhaps the wall that is not currently used could be utilised with your oven and fridge towers leaving full work surfaces to the other two kitchen sections. An island is a great move to add valuable prep space and a focal point to the room for engaging social chat. to avoid a major walkway through the core kitchen area, it would be worth exploring adding this onto the main kitchen area to promote traffic in a smaller area. Tall units always create shadows so best grouped together in a smaller combinations. Ovens at mid height work well, however for a holiday home this could be moved into an under counter position if it helps with light and work surface opportunities. Hope that helps and good luck. Hi, its a really nice space I know you mentioned you like the country style, you could incoporporate some wooden paneling similar to the image below for your wall and backsplash as it give a rustic vibe. Alternativly sage green tiles would lokk really nice and still keep the space feeling bright. I think a sage green would work really well with your white units and soften the black cooker (Ive added an image below). It would also work with either the grey floor you currently have or the beige travestine tiles if you did decide to continue them from your hallway. You could then add some sage accents like a clock, lights etc to bring the scheme together (taking inspiration from the below image.) And adding a plant maybe a Fern in a rustic pot will bring the country vibe into your space. Im not sure what your current units are made from but you could look into pianting some of the units to bring the colour scheme together. Hope this helps Louise

I agree with Asifa to go with a very light colour I would say go for a very light tint from the colour you used in the conservatory. You can then use an accessory in the kitchen in the darker shade of the blue (e.g. a decorative bowl/vase) and you would like the two spaces very nicely
