feature wall help needed

Hiya guys.

Does anyone of any ideas with what we can do in this room for feature walls?

I was thinking for the curved wall to paint it in a bold colour like blue to match this kitchen we have chosen.

the kitchen sink will be by the window.
by the bifold doors will be a dining table.
the curved wall is the utility room.
the space opposite will be where the sofas and tv will be.

I think a dark blue would look great. It's a big airy room, so will take a dark colour. You could take a drawer front with to the paint shop, get it scanned and then you'll have a match with the kitchen so the blue on the wall can't clash that way.

Re the paint colour I wouldn't recommend white it will be very stark, you need something warmer with possibly a taupe or heather tone, this will work well with your scheme. Re the spot lights, you can go for energy efficient LED's, they come in white or warm white. The warm white give off a warmer light, similar to what we are used to from our traditional light bulbs. The warm whites vary hugely from brand to brand, so view them before buying them. I would recommend a dimmer switch so you can control the amount of light. Not all fittings are suitable for dimming. Re the mirror I wouldn't put gold as you have a chrome fire surround. But burnished metals are perfect. Good luck.

Hello, Have you seen http://www.ixxidesign.com/producten/beeldenbank/kunst/van-gogh? If you like Blossom prints they have Van Gogh's Almond Blossom print that you can make as big as you like to fit your wall or headboard space. I was very tempted to use this when redecorating my bathroom recently and will probably do a feature wall in my bedroom when I get round to it. They seem to have a large image bank of other art work if the colour is too much. What I like is that you can take the design with you if you move, unlike expensive wallpaper! Good luck with yours! Hi again. So this is what I have done so far. Still seems that something is missing?!?? With 2 pictures either side and mirrored side tables it looks better. Mazur, I really like your idea and that was my original plan but then I realised that with my wall space it is hard to achieve as the wall is much bigger then the bed and there is a lot of empty wall after the bed. So I either need to frame the mirrors in together with headboard or have the mirrors as 2 separate pieces ( sort of like my pictures but bigger??? If I frame the whole thing in then what do I do with the rest of the wall? Any thoughts? Advise? Many thanks to all!

Dear Caroline, Congratulations on your new flat! Not wanting to assume, are the steps leading downstairs to the kitchen start as you enter the room? Couple of things for you to consider: - Storage unit on the other side of the stair (is there a bannister/wall/railing?); please do send through pictures. It might be possible to fit in a bookcase as a divider (recommend a low one and to accessorise the top, for example, with a vase, lamp, picture frames and candles. - Your lounge area is not that small; however, rather than a couch and a chair, have you considered an L-shaped sofa, with a coffee table in front of it and a TV unit across on the opposite wall. - What is your budget and preferred design style? - What is the flooring?
