How many pendants over my dining table?
Comments (6)I've just found two different lights on their site that are 38cm diameter. My wooden plinth on the ceiling is 200cm (table is 310cm). If I have 3 of these lights and mount them 5cm from the ends, that gives me 38cm in between each light! Is that perfect? To have about one light's distance between each light? Also, I am usually a person that goes for something a little out of the ordinary..... so was thinking of doing one bronze light holder, one brass and one chrome just to add a bit of detail. Shall I just do white for the lamp cords or something else? Trying to stay as neutral as possible in the room (i love bright colours but am just using them for accents). Would love to hear your thoughts! There is a choice of two lights - which one should I have?! Pictures of both (one has bulb visible at top and the other doesn't....See MorePendant Lights in Kitchen
Comments (8)Hi Opun Team The teal blue will be going over the island/breakfast bar which is 2,7m x 1.6m and the cluster of three will be going over the dining table but not in the way shown in the picture (they will be a different heights and a bit closer together). The kitchen diner end of the room is 6.7m x 3.7m however the whole room is L shaped 8.6m width with bifolds . I will try and attach a plan. Thanks for taking the time to reply....See MoreArt Deco Chandeliers or Pendants - Gold

Comments (4)It may be worth speaking to the electrician if you're not as keen on swagging. I know they can run a "pipe" through the ceiling void with the cabling in to put extra outlets and then just drill a hole from underneath the ceiling for the light but that is dependant on the joist direction etc though. That may not be feasible for what you want to do but may be worth asking the question anyway! If not, choose hooks that blend in with the ceiling? It will be easier to assess position this way too as you can just get the electrician to hold each one up for assessment before fixing! A general rule is that lights should be 1/2 - 2/3 of the tables width and normally hung 30-36 inches above the table. Given the double height I'd probably just start the lowest pendant c40-46 inches but I'm not sure on your total ceiling height and even though it's a feature you want to make sure the table is sufficiently lit! It's probably worth drawing it out on paper...See MoreAnthony (Beano)
