Dark grey walls in bathroom ?
Comments (13)I recently painted mine in railings (I will be having the karndean parquet put down and the bath colour still needs to change). My room is east facing but with 2 decent size sash Windows. It shows as black in the pic but very much reads as blue in the room, plus the room is very light which doesn't show with my photography skills :( If you haven't got plenty of natural light then do focus on artificial. My panelling was originally in elephants breath and I think the railings has much more of a wow impact. You may find it closes the room in a little though as you've got the pale wood wall which will contrast...See MoreCan't decide what to do with the bathroom wooden floor. Lino or lamina
Comments (2)A bathroom is a humid environment - this may adversely affect a wood or laminate floor finish. The humidity or water contact could cause the floor to swell and bulge. Cushion Vinyl flooring might be a good option - having a good finish can depend on how level the floor is, often it is a good idea to overboard the existing floor boards with 15mm thick moisture resistant plywood before laying the new floor finish...See MoreDeciding where to place downstairs bathroom and make lounge homely
Comments (10)Shahina is correct, having the bathroom opening straight in to the living or dining room isn't a good idea. Therefore, i'd do something more like this:- However, you'd be well advised to remove the fireplace from the dining area to give more room, although it may be just big enough to suffice with it in situ. You definitely do not have room for a corner sofa and another sofa in the lounge area, so something will have to give there. You would have room for say a 3 seater, an armchair, and maybe a footstool for occasional use. May I ask the reason for needing a full bathroom in this position?...See MoreCan't decide on a bathroom wall colour
Comments (6)Well the room is east facing so is not the brightest apart from from early morning, but too be honest, I don't mind if it's a bit dark as we will have decent lighting in there. I'm not really drawn towards the green tbh, although I can see that it could work well. One of the problems I'm having is that I chose the Purple Brown for the vanity unit when I thought we would keep the walls China Clay Deep, and had also planned to paint the built in cupboard in the same shade, but now that everything is in, I really want to go darker on the walls but don't know how to work that in around the unit without it clashing or getting "lost". I'm considering LG Rolling Fog (Dark maybe) or maybe Roman Plaster. Of course, it doesn't have to be Little Greene paint, I'm just trying not to give myself too much choice or I'll never make a decision!...See MoreAt No 19
