I would love to know the stain color

Do you recall the name of the stain color you used On the cypress wood ceiling? We love this color and would like to use it on our patio cover ceiling. Thank you!!

I’m sorry, I don’t recall the name of the stain color. It was a Sherwin Williams stain, however.

Hi- just an fyi, I'm American and we Americans do NOT use real wood for weatherboarding!!! 20-30 years ago ppl used vinyl but that had issues, now they use a very strong resin board. No rotting or painting.

So funny! I'm planning to paint the bannister at the new house (TNH) black and am veering towards painting the treads and risers black too... I've been searching for images of black staircases on Houzz and putting them in my entrance hall ideabook. They are few and far between. In your case, I think, with your white walls, maybe the stairs white and the bannister black? (Assuming the white walls continue up the stair walls enabling the b/w contrast.) You've already put black firmly into the equation, adding some more may give more reason for the black rad cab. In my case, there is a very off-centre radiator that could so very easily have been directly opposite the front door in TNH which is rather annoying as it stuffs up the focal point. We are leaving here with every radiator covered with a cabinet - and going to TNH that has loads of radiators ...but no cabinets! Yes, the work ahead is daunting - especially since the area of Ireland we're going to is very basic and not full of DIY resources, etc. I keep thinking I'll paint TNH white - to make things simpler(!) But try as I may colour keeps wandering through my mind! Lovely to be in touch again!

I love what you've done. The delicate pink and the bold pops of yellow and the artwork and rug are lovely touches of colour. Are these your suggestions or are they actually there? Maybe you could introduce lighting that can change colour. So then the client can vary the colours to suit her mood when she wants. A small collection of colourful cushion covers, rugs and art pieces could also be tucked away in some storage units and used to change things up as well depending on the season or the way she wants the house to feel. Or maybe a couple of vases in certain places where she can place seasonal flowers, or foliage so the house can have some colour that changes to reflect the season in a more natural way.

Hi Naomi, What a great space to work with and some really fab ideas so far! We love the idea of having the gold touches against a bolder, solid colour. What about having a rich, jewel shade of blue or navy to complement, as already suggested? We love the current 'blue' trend at the moment in interiors and just feel that it adds such an elegant and opulent touch to an interior space, especially a bedroom. However, regardless of our opinion we will watch this space keenly and look forward to seeing your finished room! If we can help with any flooring or rugs you might require please get in touch!
