Pity you have decided against glass in favour of tiles. We have just done our kitchen and I wanted an easy-to-clean surface for the splash back, so the rough surface of grouting around tiles, and also the indentations on some patterned tiles (which collect grease and grime) ruled them out for me! I went for glass, which the manufacturers matched exactly to the duck egg paint colour on the other walls (just gave them a product code of the paint), and although the initial outlay for the glass was expensive, the surface is so brilliant to keep clean and it looks fab as well. I would definitely recommend, and you could match it to, say, your lovely pink/purple ceiling lights ...

Hi Jennie, From reading, It seems like you have a good idea with what to do with the space. You're right with the right side being a little restrictive with what you can do... so in that case, we would suggest a run of units similar to the picture attached, less the appliances for safety, unless it were coffee machine, or something similar. This could be mirrored in some way on the opposite side (space/height permitting), allowing you to have the built in wall ovens.I also agree that the hob/ovens should be over on the left side, this should definitely be the quieter side of the kitchen with regards to traffic. I wouldn't suggesting running the units down the entire wall though, it can be expensive (what ever your budget), plus it doesn't really allow the kitchen to have an end. With the regards to the island, would you want a breakfast bar with such a space? Also, if you are looking at granite/quartz worktop, you'll need to bear in mind that they are only available to a certain size (3150 x 1400), some are slightly bigger. I would include the sink on the island, probably with the hob to make it near the ovens... depending on the style you are looking at and what the island needs to do for you, we could have a few ideas that you could work with. A small thought...when purchasing your sofa,ask if the seat cushion can be made as one single piece. People are simply happier sharing when no one is sitting on the crack. (tee hee) I also prefer tightback sofas in small spaces and lower arms. Less bulk and less barrier' fools the eye. Congratulations on your new digs!Ps-always,always,always measure before purchasing anything. Yes,very basic advice but so often forgotten ...as endless threads here show.
