Hi All, any idea for Kitchen/dinner layout on 6 meter rear extension?

Here is the floor plan of extension. We were thinking 6m run of units against left wall with large island parallel. Then opposite side would be a large L sofa with tv in middle of right hand wall.

Anyone got any ideas for a better layout for kitchen/diner?

We have done a similar extension and layout to the one mentioned above. Take a look at our portfolio for some ideas. https://www.drawmyextension.co.uk/portfolio

The only other layout I can see working is having the kitchen to the back of the room with breakfast vars then the family area towards the bi folds.

I'd definitely keep the kitchen in the existing space! It'll give you great flexibility. If you add roof lights to the extension, you'll get lots of light in the kitchen. But I'd get rid of those corners! Go for a straight run of units on the wall, with wall units over, and a free-standing island in front. Its a small space, so just leave 100cm between the wall units and the island. Hope this helps! Eva

It looks like you'll gain lots of space, so definitely worth playing around with plans to make use of it. I don't know how many of you live in the house or how you use your living space, but here's a few thoughts... - a utility is always worth it - no one will use a downstairs bath or shower if there's no bedroom down there, but a downstairs loo is really valuable -if a few people are sharing the upstairs bathroom, one door off a hallway is more practical and easier in terms of privacy -if you can get a small double into the third bedroom, do. Extra space for guests is always a good thing -some separate, quiet living space is always a bonus in an open-plan house. You might not get a full separate room, but dividing some of the space with a half wall will help. Or you could use an open bookcase as a divider. - storage is key in an open plan space. No point in having lots of floor space if it's cluttered with stuff, so include lots of big built in storage. I didn't really use measurements in this sketch, so I hope it's not way off...

Thank you all for your comments. Apologies, I forgot to mention - the R side (bedroom /kitchen) shares a party wall with the neighbour @Sonia, therefore no way of adding a skylight/ window🙁, unless I extend the kitchen further. @Carolina/ Wumi Didn’t want to move the bathroom as the manhole is literally just outside and I’m not keen on having the waste pipe running through the flat(advised it’s not a good idea mainly by my dad😂) Also this would mean losing the window and space to making a corridor. I must be the fussiest person asking for help!! 🤣😂
