Can anyone help with how to clean Pokyflor tiles?

I mop every day and yet dirt still seems to build in the ridges of the tiles. does anyone have experience with cleaning these tiles and what cleaner works best?

I read an article only last week regarding cleaning floor tiles with ridges. The tip was only to wipe in the same direction of the ridge therefore preventing the dirt getting lodged against the ridge. Wiping in the same direction should push any dirt to one end which you can then collect.

Hi try baby oil, this worked with mine, rub it in then wash it off.After this has dried you will then need to seal the natural slate with an appropriate product.

Tracey, those are encaustics which tend to be 18-20mm in depth, your wood will most likely be engineered ply if you have underfloor heating and depths vary 12mm upward. If one or the other substrate needs to be built up to accommodate the other that is possible. Be aware there will be some movement between the two, more so if you are using long boards, less with parquet, so consider how best to deal with any movement or expansion between the two. There are plenty of products available for this. Make sure your encaustics are sealed correctly. You could also find the cleaning regimen of the two finishes may be very different. Lithoflin for encaustics - and oil/wax for an oiled floor, that's not a great combination, so perhaps an easy maintenance wood might be better in the long run.

The lavender needs pruning. Cut off the flower stalks and a small amount of the branches, but don’t go into the old gnarly wood as it doesn’t regrow from old wood. One of the best plants to tumble over and cover up a tatty wall is Aubretia. It’s a very common plant that everyone has but it’s a workhorse. Flowers from April to June and comes in a variety of purple shades. Erigeron is another one that flowers later from June until autumn. Wonderful plant. AUBRETIA TWO VARIETIES OF ERIGERON

Thumbs up for the shelving @OnePlan (Concept planners)! Thinking about your window cill, it's likely to get wet due to proximity to the tap. So I'd go for something which is not going to deteriorate in the water. Tiles are not the only answer for that - I love Lakeland Green Slate but depending on your location and budget that may not be feasible. I've also had a lot of success with Corian/similar in these sorts of locations - try ebay for off cuts. For my own bathroom I ended up visiting a guy with a garage full of odd pieces and just chose my preference! The benefit of this over stone is that is can be cut with the same tools a joiner uses to cut wood (as long as they are sharp) which makes it easier. It's about 12mm thick so you could potentially add a little vertical upstand under the window, and then take it up the wall a little behind the basin as well to protect the wall there.
