What radiator covers should I go for and where should I buy them from?

My house is mock tudor outside and a little contemporary cottage feel inside with natural oak doors, skirting and window sills. I have a few radiators that I would like to put covers over but have no idea what style or where to get them from. Any sensible suggestions would be great thanks.

A carpenter or joiner will be able to measure up and make them for you. I’m part of a joinery company and although we don’t get ask so much for them nowadays it is something we make if asked.

Jali is an online company that’s been going for years - they do various made to measure covers. https://www.jali.co.uk/product/radiator-covers

Radiator covers aren’t always cheap (unless you find a fab carpenter as Daisy suggested) - so another option would be to replace the rads with traditional column versions - you can get some amazing ones!!

I love your new plan. You are right to make the doorway from the house to the bathroom, you only need a concrete lintel above it, the wall will be fine! ( Any builder can do this! ) Can you spin the bath round so that it's under the window though?? You will probably have enough room for a storage unit to the left of the door as you walk in. Aswell as running Bagpuss,... we are experienced property developers and i always do all of the plans, and purchasing of materials etc.........also, 50% of the labour with my husband most of the time. It pays to know what's possible sometimes. I get up really early, so, following on from your latest plan, I 3d'd it for you, as i had nothing better to do. I have to say, I'm leaning towards option 1. As I may have mentioned in the past, I suspect the trend for grey and anthracite windows/doors/sofitts etc will end sooner or later and what folks will find is they're left with external features that date a house but would be expensive to fix. And whilst I like the look of the grey now, I also remember liking the dark wood windows in the late 80s at the time, but now think they date a property. :-/ (sorry to offend anyone who may have them).

I wondered where this post had disappeared to. I had a couple of thoughts, though partly covered above. I agree that circular mirror would avoid avoid accentuating the asymmetry of the wall. I would center the mirror above the washbasin with something else to the right, such as the two mirror photo that kikiamack posted. I definitely think a mirror is required, either for shaving or for make-up. I also wondered if you could get the vanity the other way round. I.e. with the narrower end by the bath. I can't totally visualize it, but just think it might look better that way. As for the original post, yes, there are one or two (or maybe a couple more) Pros on the US site, whose behavior is distinctly unprofessional. I think they see themselves as 'a bit if a character' and substitute ignorant rudeness for when they lack an answer to the question that is actually asked. I'm not a pro by any means, but I can see how the design might look unusual. However, I would start from the premise that the room is designed around an owner's specific requirements and not to please people who can only follow the current rules. Be grateful that you have your own site where you are free of their sneering!.

Great to see all the votes for dark here. Sooooo bored with all the endless white/neutral rooms you see. We’ve just spent a year living in the all white house we moved into, and are finally getting round to decorating. So many people looked at our paint samples and were clearly horrified but we love our new rooms! So much more warmth and character. Just trust your instincts - I find rooms will tell you their character over time. We still have pale colour upstairs - loft conversion, needed to be airy - but love curling up in our cosy living room (Valspar April Rain, budget doesn’t run to F&B!), and our spare room (Dulux Starlit Night 2) feels like a boutique hotel, if boutique hotels came with cats sleeping where they’ve been told not to!

I agree with Sarah. I have Jali radiator covers in my house and they've been there for 7 years now! Can't fault them.

I have got some great radiator covers from ebay. All different designs for the vented part and colours now - they are usually made from MDF so not fancy though so I'm not sure if they would go with the country cottage vibe. Probably a carpenter is a better option for that.
