decision on hob with biult in extractor

I'm trying to decide on a hob w/built in extractor for my kitchen island. I'm especially considreing the Novy Panorama 120 vs the bora pure X. My decorator says that with pop up extractors people get tired of lowering them into the island and so leave them up all the time which doesn't look great. On the other hand the Novy appeals to me due to its design allowing all three drawers (the Bora cancels out the upper drawer). Also. our Island is 120 cm across so the Novy being so thin (50 cm) also seems more suitable as it'd give the person sitting across from it more room. I guess I could also consider the Miele and Siemmens although they don't look as nice as the Bora or Novy and I'm not sure how much room they take up underneath. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

The Bora might use up the top 199cm of your cabinet (thereby losing your top drawer) but the Novy will occupy 170 mm of the back of your cabinet and therefore you will loose room in your drawer and pull outs.

So personally I would choose the Bora. It also makes more sense to me to have the Extractor vent in the middle plus the Bora X Pure has flexible cooking zones which is better should you have a large griddle or a roaster that you want to use on the hob.

Ha @gabby :-) it’s called the elica seashell, I originally seen it on John Lewis website at a whopping near 2.5k!! After a bit of digging I found a seller on eBay with fantastic feedback and a great price, around 1k delivered! I took a deep breath and ordered it, about a month later it turned up, brand new and from what I can see, shipped direct from elica company themselves! It looks unreal! The light actually lights up the whole kitchen too as a large a down lighter, I have 4 recessed down lighters around my island and two large pendant light above my dining table, also have kickboard strip led and wall unit strip led lights too, so plenty of combos to light the kitchen when needed.

Hi Isabelle. We eventually decided on ceiling neff extractor. To be honest I rarely put it on as I find it's very noisy but on a plus side its integrated in the ceiling so it looks good. Do you have facility to put a downdraft extractor in (I think that's what they called) we almost went for that but I left it a bit late in my decision making. We happy with end look of kitchen. I hate islands. Why have a big kitchen and turn it into a little one? I reckon they'll soon be getting ripped out all over the UK like hatches were. Remember when they were cool? The secret of good hosting is to prep and cook as much in advance as you can, then sit and drink wine (or tea, vimto, absinthe etc if you must) with your guests. I'm a bit of a design snob, I admit, but these things have the stench of 'nouveau ' all over them. Don't do it people.

Hi I have the Novy Panorama 1841. I am not sure about the grille type exit point but we don't have one. The previous owners had the kitchen fitted. The unit is less than 3 years old. The right side of the hob is flashing errors and it has taken over 7 working days to get an engineer to come and replace the board. The hob is brilliant when working and really quiet. I think the aftersales service (through Aga Rangemaster) is far from efficient. With the Brexit delays you would think they might stock a few spart parts to mitigate the delays. Its been two weeks without a hob. A five year guarantee is excellent. I could recommend the product but not the aftercare.
