Comments (14)I installed a mirror in a 1.5m wide x 850mm high recess, and it looks brilliant. I lined the reveals with mosaic tiles, although kept the cill in a white tile, which now look twice as deep. I also installed de-misting heat pads to the back of the mirror first, which switch on together with the flexible LED strip light which I attached on the 'ceiling' of the recess, against the mirror (having allowed for an electrical connection for both first, of course.) My last step still to do, is to fit a chrome batten to the 'ceiling' reveal in front of the LED strip, so that the light source is hidden and not as 'dotty' and bright as in this photo....See MoreSmall bathroom facelift
Comments (36)Hi Senspasce and thank you my husband works for a large tile manufacturer and the tiles where purchased on slight seconds and a great tiler who works all over the world did the tiling beautifully. The design was copied from the company brochure so I knew it was foolproof design in its day which was over 20yrs ago so not done so bad really certainly had my moneys worth. The window is very heavily obsurced glass with leaded design so does not need blinds which cannot be fitted as casement to window is not deep enough I have had curtain treatment on expandable rod but like the light and openness. I prefer a bath we use to have shower on bracket with a shower curtain when I had new mixer and taps I did away with them to open the room up and getaway from water mold building up we use bath mat on floor when showering and not a problem with no screen a lot less cleaning too never a problem without them....See MorePlease help me find the best layout for our small family bathroom

Comments (13)I wondered where this post had disappeared to. I had a couple of thoughts, though partly covered above. I agree that circular mirror would avoid avoid accentuating the asymmetry of the wall. I would center the mirror above the washbasin with something else to the right, such as the two mirror photo that kikiamack posted. I definitely think a mirror is required, either for shaving or for make-up. I also wondered if you could get the vanity the other way round. I.e. with the narrower end by the bath. I can't totally visualize it, but just think it might look better that way. As for the original post, yes, there are one or two (or maybe a couple more) Pros on the US site, whose behavior is distinctly unprofessional. I think they see themselves as 'a bit if a character' and substitute ignorant rudeness for when they lack an answer to the question that is actually asked. I'm not a pro by any means, but I can see how the design might look unusual. However, I would start from the premise that the room is designed around an owner's specific requirements and not to please people who can only follow the current rules. Be grateful that you have your own site where you are free of their sneering!....See MoreEpic Understament
